Hey Hey Damienites!!!!

Well, it has officially been a year, yep Damien Leith Online celebrates it's first birthday of being active.

This board was officially made on the 31st of August 2006, and we thought we would do a little celebration for this special occassion. We have two options to celebrate with ... a bright cheery orange / blue one and a blue one. The banners were made by Hyperrune and the skin by Roxy, and a few others.



For those of you who don't know .... Murf and I joined forces and made this message board together. We advertised it on the AI forums and on Damien's myspace, and basically where ever we could, lol.

As week by week passed us, our member count went up, and we gained valuable fellow fans and new friends, not to mention a certain Mr. Leith, his lovely wife and his wonderful mother. We experienced the Sunday night performances together, as well as the following finger / wallet hurting voting and the stressful Monday night verdicts. Oh and who can forget when was born lol.

Oh and who can forget the feeling here on Grand Final night!! Well I know I won't, what with Shims's fantastic 'pre arrival' pictures haha. Moving on ... so we led our man on to victory, and we've been supporting him ever since with his CD sales. We've shared with each other the wonderful encounters with Damien, and with each other *coughD FEST* ;D

Now I'm going to get a bit sappy ... Yes I know ... but it had to come sometime. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has made this place special for me, never in my mind would I have imagined this is what DLO would have been like in a years time when it was started. This has been my comfort place for the past year, a place to come for a good laugh and to be comforted when I needed it, a place to hang out with friends. You have all been fantastic, and I really appreiciate you all sticking with us for the time that you have.

Thank you also to the various staff members we have had ... Murf (because I like to thank her), Winter, Shims, Carla, Braffy and Roxy.
To the lots of different artists we have let us display their banners on our front page.
To Oz, for donating a webspace for us (more on that later).
And lastly to Damien and his family, for welcoming and allowing us to enter their lives, and share experiences with them, as well as keeping us up to date on things

Neski, that was absolutely beautiful!

I can't stress how much I love this place. No matter what time of day or night, I feel like I can come on here and feel so at home and so welcome.
I have made some fantastic friends since I joined DLO and I know we will be friends for many years to come.
Damien's amazing voice has brought us all here and I thank him so much for that.

Thank you Neski and Murf for creating this wonderful place for all of us Damien fanatics to hang out!

It's been an unbelievable year that I'm sure none of us saw coming, and it's been made all the better by sharing it with so many wonderful, witty, thoughtful and compassionate new friends. I have alot of wonderful memories now because of what you both started way back then, I never dreamed that I would end up actually meeting sooooo many lovely people in person and making such fantastic friendships.

Not only has this place been a portal to get closer to Damien through media and even organize to see him in the flesh it's been a wonderful forum to meet all these lovely people and have great discussions (and tarty moments ) It's definitely enriched my life for the past year, as well as probably my internet provider

I've been reading the site since March but when I finally found the courage to join - this site gave me a new lease on life (no exageration). When I discovered the Forum Guidelines just recently it summed up what I found great about this forum. It remains a place where members can have fun, share the joy of Damien's successes and support each other.
