Just for D of course The thought has SERIOUSLY crossed my mind - would love to hear D live, but I would only go if I could get a reasonable place - which means getting there EARLY. Hanging around the Domain all afternoon with 2 kids under 5 in tow.. ?? (DH is working so I'll be a Single Mum for the occasion)...Then there's getting home...It's all sounding Too Hard...(Ok...call me a wuzz ) Maybe I'll just enjoy the telecast...(yes...I AM a wuzz...)

hey morgaine. You should go. I've been before. They have little showbags and heaps of rides for the kiddies. If you get there in the morning or even around 3pm you can still get good seats. Also, they have giant screens all through the parks so you can sit near them too. You can also just chuck a picnic blanket on the ground and go for a walk around the area. Its a great night. I am still working on going. And don't forget its all worth it for D and SANTA WILL BE THERE!!!!

If I can figure out how to do it I will definitely go - I've always wanted to go to the big Carols and this is the perfect reason to finally go and do it! Worried about navigating the crowds because I won't be able to get there early, but I'll do my best to sqeeze into the Domain and see Damien's first Carols by Candlelight!

Does anybody know if (or when) they do a rehearsal / sound check for the Carols in the Domain??? The organisers just told me there's a full dress rehearsal for the event tommorrow night, starting around 8 - 8.30 -ish BUT she couldn't guarantee that all the performers would be there and they'd all be in full "dress" (I was asking about The Wiggles for my daughter as well...!) Actually, the receptionist said D's performance wasn't yet confirmed (it's not on the official site) but I think she's just being coy...Afterall, if the production manager has confirmed it...why aren't they saying so by phone? (Dont' want to be swamped with D fans??!!) Still...not sure if D would be at the dress rehearsal...though he DOES live so nearby, and if everyone else has to go , why wouldn't he? But maybe he's such a BIG STAR they'll just get his understudy to do the rehearsal.? Now...who would be D's understudy? *thoughtful...can't imagine* AND...this still doesn't make my dilema any easier 'cos if I got tommorrow night I'll STILL probably be in Single Mum mode...but it mightn't be such a logistic nightmare if there's less people there and we don't have to get there so EARLY???

Update: I saw an ad for this on Channel 7 earlier tonight, but there was no mention of Damien being one of the star performers. Do we know for sure that he is definitely appearing?

all I know is that now I have a battle for the TV with my husband...He hasn't missed an episode of the Bill for years! I have to say I am very pleased that Smithy is now back in full force, but I am more passionate about hearing D sing I'm afraid... Morgaine - if you can hear D sing live it's so worth it. It's just the best thing in the world. I can see what you mean about kids under 5. My 2.5 year old, who is well and truly toilet trained, pissed on a plane the other day (yeah, nice)...they're just so unpredictable...but Damo can sooth your withered nerves. He's a miracle worker!
