G'day Wombat. The candle bag was like a sample bag. It had lots of goodies in it. There were 4 candles, 4 candle protector cup thingys, undies, blowup ball (re Shimms post) a vacuum container for storing coffee or food. I'm going to use mine for cut avocado. A MLC cap. Vouchers. Snacks, pasta, magazines, a lovely childrens book and probably other things that I can't think of at the moment. Oh yes! matches as well. Not to forget it all came in a red 'green' bag of which mine had the side seam split. It was good value for $12.

Braffy - an email! Do tell and anyway the headline "Damienite in Carols Incident" wouldn't be the nicest thing to see, lol. I would have driven down to Sydney to join in...

One night late, I know, but here's 2 cents... Thought Damo was perfect; thought Guy was singing like he's just got some bad news and was on another planet; didn't see the finale because I thought D would whiz off straight after Hellelujah to have a good night's sleep before big flight with toddler. So totally bummed after reading all your hilarious accounts of him 'stuffing up' so to speak. Sound like he had a blast. Did I say I thought Damo was perfect? And he definitely got the biggest cheer from what I could hear on my TV...

I have to ask - what do undies have to do with Carols? oh, that's easy - Janny was on the showbag committee Lol wombat the real reason was that the candles were wrapped in them so they wouldn't break - but I have to say we raised our eyebrows when we saw them, LOL!! They were grey bonds undies. ahtobesure ha ha, I know, not very Christmassy to want to give a thug a smack, but no one is allowed to diss our boy! Braffy - saw your letter loverly!!! But bah I think you should've told D you were the one he was blowing kisses too hee heeee

Oh rats, sorry you missed that - on the tv I think they only showed Damien do that once - lol, he was so funny, throwing his head back laughing when he did it And he was doing the crazy dancing with his arms too but this wasn't on tv much I don't think Mum was cute today - her friends were telling her they stayed up late just so they could see Damien (aww) and they all agreed he got the biggest cheer

I still cant get over "one sweet day" by Shane Emmett. It makes me cry. it reminds of when my grandpa died . i managed to find a download of it. Don't worry, thoughts of D are still racing through my head!

Wow this is such a loooong thread! But I really loved Damien's performance. I had the show on mute for ages and actually thought I may have missed him, but luckily I didn't. The rest of the show prior to Damien was dreadful, but it was wonderful that his song was following by the two tributes to people we have lost this year - and Shane singing in tribute to Belinda was very moving and it must have been hard for him to stay in control. It was moving how they showed her singing the song on the big screen and Shane had tears in his eyes at the end. I did watch the end when they were all on stage, didn't expect Damien to still be there, but he was! And I did notice his mis-cues, haha!
Just a note: Could someone tell me what it was Human Nature said that was against Damien? (I never really liked them anyway - I thought their "motown" thing was a send-up when i first saw it on TV)

grrrr indeed - I was sitting in stunned amazement as the entire crowd got up to dance at their version of Motown at the Carols, they're just not my cup of tea but everyone's got different tastes so there you go.
