Waiting patiently now. I don't think he's been on yet here.

Shouldn't be too much longer for you then. He comes on rather suddenly after the break, so be at the TV - I barely got there in time!

I've had a great TV viewing evening: 2 fantastic episodes of THE WEST WING, the 2nd half of BROTHERS & SISTERS, and then I switiched on Channel 9, just in time to watch Damien in action. He was great as ever! The one thing that I notice is how far Damien has come since Australian Idol: he is now so relaxed and confident performing, either on TV or on stage. You could tell how much fun he was having tonight ;D. Not a terribly appreciate audience, at least in my opinion(but what do you expect from a bunch of cricket players? ), BUT terrific promotion for TWJ and the upcoming gigs. Well done, Damo! My thoughts exactly sunshine! He has come so far, hasn't he? Beautiful performance tonight!! The publicity is extemely useful too!

I agree with dede his voice did sound a little strained. That's a hard crowd to sing in front of though *I suppose most are too drunk to remember by now*

Yeah, he looked fantastic and I really loved his T-shirt! Had to giggle at the height of his hair though... so that's where Anthony Callea's old hairstyle migrated to!

It was good to see Damien so relaxed, especially as this was a fairly blokey affair and the audience were probably not amongst Damien's greatest fans.
Enjoyed seeing Brett Lee's Bollywood effort too (but for quite different reasons!).

I enjoyed the whole show but I'm a huge cricket fan. Damien was fantastic, the most relaxed I've seen him with plenty of smiles and just getting into the groove. I don't think his voice sounded strained at all. A show of this type where the audience is there for another agenda, not solely to hear Damien sing is a difficult gig. There are diners, drinkers, people chatting and moving around and it doesn't lend itself to great acoustics but I did notice that as Damien got into NOML there was a complete hush in the room and the applause was great.
Human Nature closed the show and I thought they were woeful! I apologise to any HN fans but this is my perception of a very sad act by four guys who really shouldn't give up their day job. Don't tell me they do that as a day job!
Rock on Damo!

I'm not really a cricket fan but I did really enjoy the whole show. Partly because of Shane Warne's little boy who was adorable and looked bored out of his mind. I love kids at that age where they aren't all hung-up on what other people will think of them showing their true feelings, or concerned about embarrassing their parents on national TV. Aside from that it's always nice to check out something different and, as people have said, it's a new audience for Damien. I do like Human Nature and their OTT Motown thing. I'm not sure I would have the courage to do those dance moves on stage, so I have to give them credit there! I'm not sure they were the right act to have there, but good luck to them. At least it was a good song performed by people who have actual singing ability. Given the current trend right now of songs that are not actually sung, that's something of a relief! Having said that, I liked Damien best.

Thank you so much for the youtube. We don't get channel 9 out here, so was wonderful to be able to see Damien singing live. Was a nice lil after by Mark about his appearances and cd and dvd. (He certainly is, along with Richie Benaud the best commentator going at the moment.)
