Not a terribly appreciate audience, at least in my opinion(but what do you expect from a bunch of cricket players? ), BUT terrific promotion for TWJ and the upcoming gigs. Well done, Damo! Actually, I watched it back this morning and paid particular attention to the crowd reaction. Once his performance got going the audience seemed to give him their full attention (in fact while watching it last night-I just happened to flick over just after he started- I commented to hubby what a well mannered audience they were as they were pretty much all watching Damo.) And after he finished there were whistles & calls from the audience which I thought was a bit unexpected from that particular crowd. Shame D didn't get to sing another song tho.

I hope this means a few more blokes go out and buy TWJ(I presume mostly men were watching the show last night?). Mark Nicholas: by far the best cricket commentator around. He was very gracious and complimentary to Damien.

Yes, it was a hard crowd to play in front of. A lot of the people there were mostly cricket players, wives, commentators, coaches, managers, and then there were the upper-class, but I think Damien did a fantasic job he looked and sounded terrific. He will take it all in his stride.
Great publicity - hopefully a lot more people will be going out and buying his CD or even be attending his concerts.

I watched it last night. I agree with DD that he sounded a bit strained. I hope he is not overworking his vocals getting his new album made. We need him right for the number of concerts he has coming up. I still thought he sounded great though just a bit tired. He has a look on his face as if he was overawed by the company he was in and I think he was thoroughly loving being there. Last night I heard the wolf whistles and cheers but listening back on Youtube it doesn't seem quite as pronounced. Must have something to do with my volume control!! I was very excited and pleased by his performance and the audience reaction. I hope Damien realizes that I missed Brothers and Sisters because of him. I agree with the others that Mark Nicholas did a great job and is a great commentator. No one has commented on the major thing that was missing from last nights performance.......no tank you, tank you, tank you very much

So if that was a backing track..the musos were just miming? D looked pleased to be at that venue...probably a bit of a difficult crowd but he did great!

I noticed it too but I thought he looked perfect just standing there smiling almost nonchalantly. Like he ways saying, 'I'm pleased with myself and nothing else is needed'.

Yes I noticed the no "thanks very much" thing, but it was probably the event. I couldn't help but wonder if he get sick of singing NOML................ just a thought.
