Jeff Buckley Tribute
Friday 1 June 2007 starts 6pm 6pm
Manning Bar, Manning Rd, Sydney University, New South Wales
Cost : $25 (includes donation to artist support fund)

Performing as part of the annual Jeff Buckley tribute featuring an array of very talented local artists. This show marks the 10th anniversary of his death and will undoubtedly be a very special sold-out night.

The artists performing so far are:

Damien Leith,

There'll also be a house band with I think:

Guitars - Rex Goh (Savage Garden, Air Supply, Daryl Braithwaite, Wendy Matthews, Gina Jeffries, Renee Geyer, Kate Ceberano, and a host of others)
Bass - Steve Bull (Icehouse),
Keys - Mark Palmer (The Hipstones)
Drums - Jon Howell (Leonardo's Bride)

It's starting earlier than usual - 6pm - because there's going to be a screening of a Jeff Buckley documentary which is being released the week before called 'Amazing Grace'.

How lucky you all are to be in Sydney and see Damien on a regular basis. I love that you all go to these events and report back with pics and info for us. ;D even though I'm a tad jealous not to be going myself and yes keep us informed dede, it's good that D is getting around to so many events.

I hate bad news on a holiday...

Champo just told me that at this stage D is not doing the Buckley tribute.

I'm still going though should be good (but would be better of course if D sang too - if it changes I'll let you know)

Jeff Buckley was awesome, well I don't remember him, but he must have been cos his version of Hallelujah is awesome. I'd like to hear Damien do a version as long as the original, that would be cool.

But yeah, with the single coming out, a film clip to do (will there be one?), and the album coming out a bit later, as well as the Bump (especially) and the Logies, I don't think he'll have much time to do things like this around that time. So that's a shame but understandable.

I imagine Damien will be extremely busy in June, promoting the new single & album, and also spending a lot of quality time with the growing Leith family, so it's understandable he wouldn't be able to attend this event.

Oh that's a shame he mightn't be able to do this one! Would have been brilliant. Great venue, too.

I've just heard a rumour from a reliable source that he's back in along with Katie Noonan from george! Maybe DD can offer some confirmation?
