Where's Braff --- Damien and Billy Thorpe on the same stage ------- her tissue box must be empty -------- Irish can you screen cap that You are so right GJ. I have in fact written a post to that effect in the 'Messages to the Man' thread. It was so moving and touching. Pure joy and yes the tissue box is empty. Thank you Damien, you will never realise how wonderful I thought that was.

Fifi Box is on the Triple M Breakfast show in Sydney. Fairly unimpressive, another giggly blonde bimbo, but apparently DWTS will propel her to TV fame. Yeah, I'm happy Kate got the Gold. Someone from a top rating show deserves it, and you can't deny Kate Ritchie hasn't put in the hard yards over 20 years. My sympathies go to Rove, but he's won a few of these before, and frankly his show doesn't deserve the awards. So Damien stayed in Melbourne last night? I hope he was a good boy at the after party. Damo did us all proud last night! Somebody on one of the radio stations this morning said some nice things about him.

Yes, agreed Angel! Who is Fifi Box anyway? I can only remember this inane giggling from her. Fifi Box reminds me of 'Thank God You're Here' and 'Dancing With The Stars', no wonder I don't like her that much lmao.....Is she meant to be funny? Adam Hills and Dave Hughes are funny, Fifi Box.....not funny! *sticks neck out* I am totally the opposite . I love Fifi and thought she did really well last night and I loved her banter with Michael Weatherly- and Dave Hughes! Ugh! He's an embarrassment IMO- I cringed when he was on & even changed channels after a while cause I couldn't stand it. I have never found vitriolic personal attacks on other entertainers (especially from someone who I think has NO talent at all) funny, they're just nasty. And don't get me started on the Chaser..I was very glad they didn't win. (*ducks*) As for Our Damien- What a perfect choice it was to have Damien sing the extremely poignant Waiting on an Angel with his indescribably angelic voice. *sigh* I love him even more.....

I'm with you smilingeyes. I used to like Dave Hughes, but last night I did not find anything he said funny. I wasn't overly impressed with Adam Hills either. I thought Fifi was the shining light on the Hosting side of things. Thank God You're Here is a great show because they are thrown into the deep end without knowing what is on the other side of the door and they just have to get straight into character and run with it. It is thinking on your feet and Fifi more than holds her own in that show. She was a real trouper in Dancing With the Stars too. Damien was still the best on the night though.

Hehe, at least we all agree on the Damien side of things! I like Adam Hills and Dave Hughes, but I'm not too sure about some of the stuff that was said last night. As for Fifi... well, there's nothing wrong with being a giggling blonde.

Did I get all the blonde Damienites mad? Evan flees for the exit! I'm not a Dave Hughes fan either! And continually putting on American celebrities, who don't know a thing about Australian TV, is becoming rather tiresome. They should have let the Chaser dudes host the entire show: that would have been funny. Yes, Damien was by far the best thing of the entire show!

I'm with you smilingeyes. I used to like Dave Hughes, but last night I did not find anything he said funny. You didn't crack up when he was telling the story about the homeless guy? "You were crap last night" "Mate! Where are you watching me from?!" HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I loved it!!

This is gonna kill Braffy!" It was so so so nice, wasn't it?

I am completely in awe of how beautiful and appropriate his performance was. The song, the montage of photos/footage, the look in his eyes that spoke volumes about the fact that he as singing from his soul and he felt every single word. Everything was beyond words, glorious, respectful..moving.

Finally have a chance to comment on last night. I thought Adam Hills made a great host. I have never liked Dave Hughes - I find his voice annoying and his sense of humour less than funny. I love Fifi and I thought she did a fine job. Damien's performance of WOAA was superb - sensitive and understated so as not to detract from the purpose of the performance, ie., to honour the memory of some wonderful entertainers who are sadly no longer with us. I know what that song means to Damien and he must have been felt so honoured to have been given the opportunity to perform it last night under those circumstances. Well done Damien - it was a beautiful tribute to some truly beautiful people.

I have to disagree with some of you, Fifi began to grate on my nerves last night (and I- in boredom having watched an episode- had wanted her to win over kate Cebrano in DWTS). I am sure, it was the excitement of the moment, but it was a little 'giggly school girl'. Yes, in some ways it was nice, because it's nice to see 'celebrities' getting caught up in the excitement of the moment and not being 'too cool for school'. In others, it was cringe worthy. I was flicking between Grey's Anatomy and Logies (only watched for Damien). However, what I did see of Dave Hughes and Adam was quite funny, but to each their own . Variety is the spice of life, and if we all had the same perspective on life etc, how boring would it be? That's brilliant that Kate won the Gold, I haven't wathced H&A for years, but it's nice to see her win it. x

I was in tears, but so were a lot of you and I can't explain how I felt afterwards. It was a real peace. I think because Damien sang it and he sang it with sincerity and respect. The pauses in the singing while various clips were being played was so touching. Damien is as we all know a class performer and my tears were tears of joy and admiration at the end. I truly hope that Rove, Terri and Bindi had that same feeling of love and calmess at the end. Whoever organised that section of the proceedings could not have done a better job. I am welling up as I write this because it was so so beautiful.

I just watched the performance again and something else I noticed is that I think this was the first time I have heard Damien introduced simply as "Damien Leith" and not "Winner of Australian Idol, Damien Leith". That was nice.

Found this on SMH Tribal Mind blog - talking about the ratings being down this year...
Also - the Logies were down for a few reasons;-
It had stiff competition in the 7.30-8.30 slot. Ugly Betty, Big Brother and Robin Hood all managed over 1m each!
The lead in of Lost Tribes - I saw a glimpse and was offended how racist it was. The white family complained bitterly about the "savages" - all who were dark skinned and couldn't speak English!!
This makes Celebrity Dog School look like Masterpiece Theater!
And as for the telecast itself - well of course TOO LONG!
Fifi was embarrassing. Giggling like a schoolgirl and never once taking a breath! Thank goodness for Michael Weatherly. NOW HE WAS ENTERTAINING! (and he actually allowed some mighty sensitive questions and was happy to play the good natured fool!)
Adam Hills surprisingly was off and David Hughes was just crude. The over-rated Hamish and Andy were just plain awful.
A big plus - the memorial tribute with Damien Leith singing. Very touching.I missed the Chaser War guys mucking around. Obviously their brand of humour wasn't the Logie producers type.
Oh well - congrats to all nominees and winners (some were actually deserving!).
Next year - bring in the drowning music to cut speeches to at least 1 minute!
