I usually dont watch the logies --- and thought Adam Hills not at his best --- Dave Huges trying a bit too hard --- Fifi --- far too giggly ---- but the logies are a hard gig for anyone....................unless you are Damien Leith .................. who showed them all that he is a sensitive singer and he performed with such grace and dignity.... he had us all in the palm of his hand as we listened to every heartfelt note.........BRAVO Damien.........more tissues please
Note: I would also have loved Come to Me as the track

Did I get all the blonde Damienites mad? Evan flees for the exit! I'm not a Dave Hughes fan either! And continually putting on American celebrities, who don't know a thing about Australian TV, is becoming rather tiresome. They should have let the Chaser dudes host the entire show: that would have been funny. Yes, Damien was by far the best thing of the entire show! Sunshine - surprising there are very few blonde Damienites (that I know of anyway) and I am one of them .......but I agree with you

Damiens performance was so beautiful I rang channel 9 and told them it was the best part of the show.

I agree with the SMH article that smilingeyes posted wholeheartedly. Adam Hills wasn't at his best and Dave Hughes segments were like a scatter-gun of insults hoping that one or two bullets might hit a funny-bone IMO. Damien's segment was a highlight of dignity, restraint and wonderful timing. He seemed the most professional performer of the night. His interpretation of the song was loaded with significance and poignancy. A beautiful performance.

I almost started crying FOR you Braffy. As soon as Billy's face came on the screen I said to my Mum "Oh shit. This is gonna kill Braffy!" It was so so so nice, wasn't it? It has been lovely how so many of you had thoughts of me when Damien sang the tribute. I was in tears, but so were a lot of you and I can't explain how I felt afterwards. It was a real peace. I think because Damien sang it and he sang it with sincerity and respect. The pauses in the singing while various clips were being played was so touching. Damien is as we all know a class performer and my tears were tears of joy and admiration at the end. I truly hope that Rove, Terri and Bindi had that same feeling of love and calmess at the end. Whoever organised that section of the proceedings could not have done a better job. I am welling up as I write this because it was so so beautiful. Very beautifully said, Braffy. I don't think anyone could have possibly done that better than Damien did. He truly does sing with his heart, and what a loving heart he has...... And Zeeta, well done for ringing Channel 9: what a great idea! I will do likewise.....perhaps the more people who ring, the more the message will get through that they should have Damien on there more often... P.S. How could I forget? GJ, thanks so much for posting this to Youtube. I've watched iit three times already...x

It's great to read all these differences of opinion.
I thought Adam was fine. Maybe he didnt' go the whole hog with his stand-up routine because he was more or less hosting, rather than performing. I thought Dave was funny.
The thing about Damien I found also, is that he was there to sing, but the spotlight was not on him, and his demeanour was restrained. Even at the end, he didn't do a "yo, thank you!" thing, he just folded his hands neatly and gave a humble nod. Aw.

Did I get all the blonde Damienites mad? Evan flees for the exit! Ah, just call me Kami "Heeheeheeheeheeeee" Tsuki. I'm so glad you got to see both the singers you love "together", Braffy. Damien handled the occasion so beautifully and professionally and I really feel that the peacefulness a lot of us experienced was partly the spirits of all those people gone who felt the love for them there and the sincerity of all those involved in the gesture. And as generally un-sappy as I am I can't help getting teary thinking of it. We are all of course biased towards adoring everything Damien does, but in this case in particular I challenge anyone to have a differing opinion...
