He sat playing guitar (THE guitar, that is, the one from Idol) and he was tapping his foot a bit.

Did he stand or play guitar -- more details more details perched on stool with guitar, band some way behind with large screens playing footage. Adorable white sneakers. Really moving

Transfered from the other thread ...
Well, that made me cry. What a beautiful vocal performance, WOAA, the way they put that clip show of everyone like that, amazing, a lot of wonderful talents are lost, I, really don't know what to say but well done Damien.

His shoes were adorable, but that's irrelevant. I think he did so well working with the tribute in the background, and gave a totally different performance of Waiting On An Angel... that was not really one of my absolute favourite songs of his on Idol, but each time he does it there's something unique about it, and I just love that he was able to approach it in an extra sensitive way. I really feel for Rove though. I'm sure after doing that Damien will be special to him now as well...

That was a huge tribute to belinda and steve irwin, one that their families will always remember im sure.

And it wasnt even that it was just about his voice, as it wasnt...it was more of an atmosphere and a feeling that he created....

OMG OMG OMG: That is one of my favourite songs from Idol/TWJ. I had tears in my eyes watching Damien's brilliant performance! OMG, the man is a musical genius: Evan gets down on bended knee and worships Damien Leith. OK, no need to watch any more of the Logies. I suppose Rove will win the gold.
