Thought I'd start a collective memorial thread of the cute ways our kids have come up with their own "Damienisms"
I've already mentioned
Listen Doorman = Nessum Dorma
Also...Echidna Eyes = Look in your eyes (from NOML...)
Both courtesy of my 4 y.o DD
The giggles they get into when they say these (ad infinitum) is TOO CUTE...

well i've posted these before - Maia is the most obsessed (my 4 year old) - wants to marry Damien and won't take no for an answer. Everytime a song comes on my CD player the kids ask the same question "Is this him?" they both know the words to Hallelujah and when i was playing Jeff Buckleys version today Jaymie (5) said "Mummy this isn't him, right?"
So Damien has been reduced to a 'him' in our house.
Maia was going round the house yesterday singing Come to Me and Jaymie was singing Sky today

Okay Jaymie over dinner his evening:
We asked J who she liked driving her around the best - Mummy or Daddy. "Mummy listens to the best CD's in the car" "Daddy only listens to boring grown up stuff, while Mummy listens to Play School and Damien too"

I tell both the kids a bedtime story once we turn the light out...
DD..."I want a story about a family where the Daddy's name is Damien..."
Well...if you say so...
I launch into "Once upon a time there was a little girl who's Daddy's name was Damien...bla, bla, bla" A couple of minutes into the story...
DD: "Not just Damien....Damien Leith"...!! LOL!
(I hasten to add the story I made up bore NO relation to D and his family!!!!)

I was talking to 2 1/2 year old granddaughter Tahlia and saying 'what do you think of Damien Leith?'. Expecting her to throw her arms in the air and say 'yeah' My wretched Miss 15 quickly jumped into the conversation and showed Tahlia the fingers down the throat ritual of gagging. (She really likes Damien but doesn't like my obsession - it takes away a lot of her computer time.) Tahlia immediately picked up the fingers/throat bit and I then had to get her to stop doing it. I finally succeeded when once again I mentioned Damien Leith and she gave me She did two thumbs up and an attempt at a wink.

I need some help here. I just gave the kids some paper and pens to entertain themselves for a while. Jaymie just ran in with a picture... and said "Mummy could you look after this for Damien". I looked and she has written him a message (all by herself and with no mistakes ) with a cute picture. Where the hell do I send it to... or should I just scan it and pm him - which seems a bit impersonal? I swear I had no involvement in this whatsoever. she wrote "To Damien can you do a song for me love Jaymie ....."

My 7 year old either runs out to me when Damien's on tv and yells "mummy mummy quick Damien's on tv"
or
If I'm playing him on the cd player he'll come in and go "not Damien Leith AGAIN!"
