WHERE WE LAND is finally out in the stores today!  While of course we are going to enjoy talking about every song IN DETAIL in all the other threads in this forum - here's a spot for everyone to consider the album as a whole - the way the tunes sit together, favourite tunes etc.. Haven't listened to it in full - only finsihed listening to I Still Miss Us - and so far I'm loving ... and yes I did a cheeky thing today - I've been out all day, holding the album in my hot little hands and went to HMV - they were playing it so i decided to have a browse in there *sigh* |

Overall comments... HERE BE TWINKLY!  I love the general vibe of the songs... the mellowness and the focus on guitar, and the airy sound... yes, that is how I like my music produced, thank you very much. ;D This is only a small part of Damien's 'sound' I guess... we know they left some of the rockier stuff off there, but I think there's enough of a range within what was put on to give it depth and make the individual tracks stand out. If that makes any sense to anyone else. I wasn't sure about the track order at first, but having listened to it, it really works! Especially having Cold Cold Heart as the last track - I wanted Not Just For The Weekend at the end, but the way it is works better than what I was thinking of. And... I think there are enough high notes on there to keep a stupid grin on everybody's face for weeks. ;D |

Oh yes.... twinkly.... great word!!! I'm only halfway through and I don't know how much sense you'll get out of me for a while - I'm so as I listen for the first time. LOVING it so far and it's just magic to hear all this beautiful new music. Now I see exactly why I nearly blew a fuse for Beautiful the other night ahhhhhhhhhh loving it....... So far I've flatlined /\/\/\_________________  a few times, it's all been so so beautiful... OMG just heard those changes in Blew it All Away - God knows how I'm going to choose a favourite on this album.... |

I've got it, I've got it. Sanity was playing it this morning when I bought it.  OMG, Where We Land is absolutely exquisite. I knew it was going to be great but it has exceeded all of my expectations. I'm in teh coma. I just love All I Want Is You.  Can you just imagine singing along to this at the concerts? In fact every song on the album is incredible including Danny Boy! I can't comment on each track individually at the moment, I'm still drinking them all in. ;D I love how the lyrics are printed on the inside cover and it's wonderful to see "Written by Damien Leith" against nine of the tracks. And DLO and the Damienites received a big thank you from Damien.  Congratulations and well done Damien on a brilliant album.   |

It's stunning. I have a few favourites so far, I Still Miss Us, Alone, The Long Way Back and All I want Is You.
I am really blown away. It's just brilliant and it sure does bring out a variety of emotions.
Thank you Damien for such a beautiful collection of songs.

I could not pick a favourite one .........they all give me something different ......and I love them all ....but I do wonder which will be next single........ I agree gj, I couldn't pick a favourite. *shivers* *in a good way* OK I tried to do a song by song account of the album but it impossible - I love all these song, they ahve a certain quality about them, but I have to say so far my faves are
~ Shine Like The SUn
~ I still Miss Us
~ Not Just FOr The Weekend
~ Cold Cold Heart
~ Beautiful
lol ... yeah ok I have to limit myself to five - its harder than i thought - i want to pick all of them!
