Ricky is probably our biggest competition for tomorrow night, and he had a really good night. Yep, some dodgy notes at the end, but he's a great performer. Still smiling and swooning over Damiens performance, it was just magical. How could he have done any better? If he goes tomorrrow I'll be bitterly dissapointed, but happy that he did it his way, his style, and it was utterly breath-taking. and yes, the look, spot on perfect. I hated how we revisted the "ugly" comments in the auditions, and was it just me or did D kind of say in the intro that he sort of agrees with Mark? I might be reading that wrong though... but I gotta say, D, you aint ugly, not even a little bit.  |

no, it was just Damien's accent, I thought so too but he said something else. Will have to watch again later so I can see what it was. But I'm so sorry that is sticking in his mind, because we don't agree! He's lovely!!!

Yes shim, he is lovely! And LOL at me not being able to decipher the accent!! Heeee..........*is a doofus* Chris is not at all a favourite of mine, but this was easily his best performance and I'm glad he got his touchdown. Lots of energy, his vocal was strong (well, its a rock song, he yelled it!) but I really hate the hair flick thing he does! LOL, but still great. The thing that scares me for D is the audience reaction (though D's was great too)...and when Kyle asked if they wanted to see more of that again next week. I'm kind of thinking the voting public (the majority) DO want to see it..... but I'm not one of them. Give me a voice, a piano and a pair of deep eyes any day of the week! I hope there are plenty still out there that feel the same |

I thought Jess was stunning too - have written my thoughts about the others in our other thread for the week 8 in the Idols section. LOL did you just see them say Dean was next and Damien blew a kiss to the camera in "Dean style" beside him ;D |

Ricky, Chris and Jessica were all fantastic - although I am still wishing we could have heard more of Damien. I'll take the voice and piano over all that other stuff any day too.  |

Hell yeah, really loved Jess' performance, and I'm so glad it was simple - I prefer her voice that way. she's just so gorgeous, she'd be my pick to win after D.
Can I keep swooning over Message some more now? ;D
I really think the 2 touchdowns are deserved, really great performances, but I do think D has been overlooked (and I know I am a touch biased LOL!). I just loved its softness and clarity, his voice is just so superb its scary...and this is LIVE. I own a lot of live recordings, and no-one has ever come close to him for me...
I'm just so thrilled with his performance ;D *grin*

I think everyone will remember Damien's performance and he won't be at risk, he was superb this week. Jess was the only one I consder as good this week, he was far above the rest.

i was loving his performance! It was moving and oh the piano!!! Can he get any dreamier!!! Lucky lady Eileen - he mentioned it was a sentimental song for you both - lucky lucky!!! ;D

winterlong I just saw that bit again where Damien was talking about Mark & the 'ugly' thing - He said 'I'm through, so who cares?"! With his accent it sounded a bit like "I do" and I know that made me jump and maybe that's what you heard too.
Damien was easily in the top 2 performances tonight. I'm voting to be sure though!

Damien was just brilliant again tonight. I have no doubts at all that he is super safe for another week. Soppy me, I had tears through the whole performance it was so touching. He's definitely a star and in my opinion way above all the rest. My hubby thought he was brilliant again too. I just loved D's whole arrangement. Well done to Damien. His music just gets right in under your skin. I love the way he really feels what he is singing. Hey I didn't like the judges comment of him being more Elton Bond than Elton John on the piano though - thumbs down to that comment. I think Damien is wonderful on the piano. Once again, that was beautiful. I can't wait to download that song.
