I thought Mark said Elton Bong!? Could have been Bond. Don't get his reference either way. But then again, I never really know what Mark is on about. Damien has such a lovely touch with piano, and wow that was a brave thing to sit there singing AND playing on tv. His arrangement was so nicely pared down.

Yes, I believe Mark said "Elton Bong"....must be his pet name for his own particular apparatus. Sniffer dogs would have a field day in that mans dressing room I swear.

I heard "Elton Bond" for all the sense that makes - I always knew Mark was a tool and that just proved it yet again!!!!! Anyway, be still my beating heart! I 've only just been able to find the strength to reach my computer after that performance. As a "bl#@!y Queenslander I had to wait an hour longer for the lovely Damien and the excitement just about did me in!!! While I'll never get enough of his voice, I'll almost be glad when this whole Idol journey is over. I'm getting NOTHING useful done in my life at the moment!!! Words can't describe how exquisite Damien's performance was tonight. Sublime! Spine tingling! Emotional! Moving! Well I guess I found just a few words, and there are many others that I feel but can't find. We can't lose Damien tomorrow, it just doesn't bear thinking about. After his rendition today, it would be criminal not to have him for audience choice. Now, what I want to ask is this - should I just sell my car or mortage my house to pay for voting? PS I NEVER thought D was ugly, but do you find him looking hotter and hotter each week? (no offence to Eileen). Cheers, Lozza

Lol, bl#@!y Queenslanders (joking) Poor things, you must have gone crazy waiting to see the show. Lozza your words are spot on - it was emotional, sublime and spine tingling! I'm with the brigade who always thought Damien was attractive but I agree, he's looking even better! Maybe he's just happy and is glowing.

Cheers, Lozza Hey I'm in Queensland too and had to wait an hour while everyone was raving on about how great he was...It was the longest hour ever......but boy was it well worth it. and yes (sorry to Eileen in advance here) ..but he sure is looking hotter each week.....loved that 2 day old growth....hope he keeps that look. the forums are going crazy about who will be in the bottom 3 and I have resigned myself to the fact that Damien will possitively be one of them....and thats not bad considering this will be his first time.....It's what happens after that, that worries me. so we must vote until our fingers bleed.....Please I really don't want to see him go home just yet.....

Even though it's still early in Queensland, I'm off to bed. All the waiting around for the gorgeous Mr Leith has exhausted me, and to be honest, if I stay up I'll just fret about the thought of him going home! Yes, everyone has worried me!! I know I won't get a wink of sleep tonight, and work tomorrow will just be a four letter word (I know not much will be happening on THAT front!!!). I've consoled myself with the thought that I can find out the results on the internet before having to endure the actual show. If he goes, I'll just watch the last 2 minutes of him singing, assuming I haven't jumped off a tall building prior! I just LOVED him tonight, and the thought Hallelujah and Crying will keep me going. GOD I need a life!!!! Sweet dreams fellow Damienites. Cheers, Lozza

Yes its getting all to stressful isnt it, your comments crack me up Lozza, brilliant post. Yes he is getting hotter and hotter, the little hottie, I to luv the stubble, I agree nothing is getting done, seems like life is on hold until this thing is finished, but how the heck are we going to cope with not hearing him, I suggest we all keep our downloads in a security deposit box or something, as who knows when Damo will be able to put out his own c.d., we may have to be patient, so our downloads are more precious than ever, until we get the real deal (c.d.). :::sigh::: Finally I get to log on!!!! ;D Firstly, thank you so much Eileen for uploading the mp3 for us. Now, I was just blown away by Damien's performance last night. This is truly one of my favourite songs of all time, (I was 14 when it came out) being a HUGE Neil Finn fan. He wrote it for his wife back in 1982. And it is the first time I have heard it sung by anyone else. I last heard it sung solo on the piano by Neil at the Enz concert in May this year - a very moving performance - and Damien really did the song justice last night. (Daresay even rivalled Finn??) I really dislike having to hear the judges comments afterwards. Here I am riding on an emotional high, and it is quickly dissipated hearing Mark saying "Elton Bong" or whatever. It makes me think having the judges is completely pointless, if they don't give scores. Anyway, good luck to Damien tonight, I'm off to see Andrew Denton at the Rivoli Cinema so I'm going to miss the elimination. Hope all goes well!!

Hi Eileen,
Thanks for popping by and for also giving us the link to download last night's song. That was such a touching performance last night, but I imagine it must have been quadrupally (did I just make up a new word?) touching for you with D singing it. Enjoy that song today - I thought it was beautiful last night how Damien sang it for you. In a way I think we all owe you a big thank you, as you've touched D's heart which shines through in his music. (Did that sound too corny?).
I hope he is safe tonight too, everyone's starting to get me a bit worried, so I'm off to check my hubby has done his votes and to do another 20 on top of the 20 I've already done.
Hugs, Belinda

Hi Eileen - great to see you here, the screaming young girls might have the lungs, but we've got the determination to see our lad through! So please don't feel too stressed, take a moment today to have break , a nice cuppa, relax and listen to your lovely hubby singing to you Mondays must be tough on you all. Ah Selestial, you're using the banner *hugs* You know, I don't think I've ever heard anyone else sing that song either!! And Enz fans are very protective of these beautiful songs, so if we're happy, you've got to know we love it

Hi everyone,
I have voted and voted and I haven't finished yet. My fingers are crossed for Damien. I have been checking other forums to see what people are saying. I am quietly confident that Damien won't be in the bottom three tonight (and I know that means he must be in the top two). Just because Chris and Jess received 'touchdowns' doesn't meant that they are 'safe'. Personally I think Damien deserved one. I had a feeling Mark was thinking about giving him a touchdown at once stage but was too arrogant to swallow his pride. People seem to have gone right off Dean and Ricky. I have a feeling that one of those two will go. It will definitely be easier for Damien if Dean goes. I personally feel it will be Damien and either Jess or Chris at the Opera House - only my opinion though - just judging on what people are saying on forums. I know however that it it one thing to be mouthing off in a forum and another thing to be actually voting for one's favourite idol.
Anyway, enough said. Everyone please, please, please do at least one more vote for Damien (if you can) - just to be sure.
Can't wait for tonight. I am still studying but can't concentrate.
Lisaw
