Ok, coming into the thread late, need to catch up
*cracks knuckles in anticipation*
Ok, I agree with both selestial - in not being a fan of Idol, if it weren't for Damien - and with Winter - on wondering what Damien could do with the winner's single, seeing as it sounded so typical of the ooey-gooey mush that constitutes a winner's single.
But I'm jumping ahead...
The video package was fantastic, one of the best ever! (I had to add 'one of' into that sentence, considering there was no photo shoot last night! ) I loved seeing him in musicals at school and in his metal band (bwa ha ha - sounded good, by the way!) and the wedding pics, and putting Jarvis to bed ...aaaaaaawwww!!!!
I know Damien was good all through the show, I vaguely remember lines of the winner's single were stirling, and to be frank I can't remember much of Waiting on an Angel except that it was beautiful (I haven't listened to the mp3's yet by the way). I wasn't in on the drinking game - I don't drink - but a note about 20 seconds into the Alex Lloyd song almost had me comatose, it was so perfect!
He seemed better this week, if that is possible - I think he's relaxed now, knowing it's almost over, that he's made it to the top, and that Mark and Kyle weren't allowed to speak this week! (I hope those snakes Kyle was eating were live ones!! Just kidding! I save that punishment for Mark...)
Coming back to the point though, as good as Jess was, as strong as her voice is, she only seems to be able to do diva-performed power ballads, and I'm getting sick of hearing Christina Aguilera every week! Part of Damien's appeal lies in his versatility in both his musical interests and his performing abilities. I am sure that if he went back and tried it, he could even pull off disco again! (personally I liked Celebrate, but I'm rambling...)
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I think Damien completely outshone Jess last night, and even though we got more Damien last night than we have ever gotten before in one dose, it wasn't quite enough, I want more! It's going to be a long week...
HE COULD SO WIN IT!!! AND HE SO SHOULD!!!
