Well guys am trying, but so far just cant seem to settle at the new site, too many really young ones posting silly things & saying silly things and way toooo many threads to go through.
Me thinks I will just come back here & settle in my armchair and play out my obsession with the Great Damien right here where I feel at home, all comfy.
I suppose Ill pop in there from time to time, but it just doesnt feel right, It might just be me, but this is Damiens True Home.

p.s. got son to go out in 38 degrees today to pick up his single, but he came home and said theyre not in the stores yet, he tried two stores, dissappointed to say the least. Yes I know u can download it but Im not that clever, will just have to get by with my video & c.d. my neice did for me from the shows.
Im sure I heard that it would be available by Tuesday.

yeh, i don't like the look of it, the threads are all over the place and duplicate each other

Hey Murf, its me Well, I had to be Welly, Im gona have to ask Neskie to help me get all my posts back, looks like Im a newbie, but Im not, hahahha.
Dont know what happened, just wouldnt let me in, so had to re=register as Welly and it took all my hard written posts away, shucks, Im an old professional Damienite not a newbie.
Gona go to computer whizz Neskie for re-instatement, hahahah.

Im finding it complicated to...i dont no why...its like..all over the place atm..o well..unless we have this place,and im sure we will get used 2 it(hopefully).

personally I've never found the official forums all that great - maybe coz they're commercially driven by Sony/BMG rather than grass roots fans who made it themselves - or something. There's usually an unofficial place that's better  |

I'm new to Damien centric forums in general, but I still know what you mean. This place seems warm and welcoming, very much like a family. The official forums on the other hand... the people there seem happier to post about other 'popular' mainstream artists and TV shows (using text speak) than actually take the time to have an actual discussion (even a spazzy one) about Damien. Not that discussing other topics is a bad thing, but its all very robotic. One person asks a question, they get a direct answer and the thread dies because nothing more can be said, or someone makes a comment and all that comes in the form of a reply is a simple 'LOL' or 'ya'. How do you reply to that? Hopefully it improves with time.  |

*hugs for all* Give the new place some time, guys, I think it will settle down after a while and start to feel a little more warm and friendly. When a forum is started from scratch like that, you have a lot of people scrabbling about trying to find their place in the community, not all of them with the best of intentions, and it can all be a bit weird.
As long as we still have this place, I'm happy. I don't want to say too much bad about the official forums because forums are meant to support the artist and should work together, rather than against one another.
All we can do is try to encourage friendly, intelligent conversation over there, and ignore what we don't like. And I think the rest will sort itself out with time...

I'm finding the new site a bit too OMGWTFBBQ for me, and a bit light-on for Damien content. Delta Goodram seems to be a favourite though (not that there's anything wrong with Delta, I just don't see the connection). Also the navigation aspects aren't as good as they could be [/negativity] But agreed, maybe it will morph a bit with time once it establishes it's own identity and doubtless some will prefer it over this forum's style anyway. Personally I think we're quick to criticise because we've been spoilt over here by having so many quality on-topic posters. |
