I want to know - "What were these girls thinking?!" Putting their opinions, names and photos in the paper where vengeful Damien fans can find them? I take no responsibility for bodily harm that may come to these girls...  Grrr! Crash! bang! bash!  Of all the prejudiced, ignorant... They probably interviewed at least 10 people then picked the most interesting/controversial comments they got. If only they'd talked to one of us... Get an informed opinion at least next time! |

Oh Lord. It's not 'Australian Citizen Idol', girls. And WTF does the first one think 'prefabricated' music is?  Borrows definition: Um... okay. Only use words you understand the meaning of next time, honey. Because what you're selling is 'prefabricated' music.  Isn't the point of this kind of thing to get a rounded set of opinions? Two of them said the same thing and the other one didn't even have an opinion on Damien, but the show, which is... pointless? And OMG, Kris, your new title... |

Adora-Rose ROFLMFAO Hee hee. She's a classic!! Draws a love heart and peace sign but has no idea what she's on about. Hee hee. She sells "records"  ? What does that mean? Second hand vinyls? No wonder she doesnt know anything about what's going on in the world in 2006. Hey honey, people buy CDs now and download stuff to I-pods an' everything. Unless she thinks CDs and mp3s are pre-fabricated while old-fashioned records evolved organically out of thin air. The other 2 girls are just being petty. |

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and not everyone is a fan of Damien but I would love Adora-Rose to elaborate on what she means by "I sell records, I'm not into prefabricated music." Huh?? Get over the Australian citizen thing already! Being an Australian citizen is not going to give you a great singing voice! Damien has a beautiful voice and Australia has embraced him with open arms. end of subject! |

That whole citizenship chestnut is really wearing thin. Apart from the Aboriginal community, we ALL come from somewhere else in the last couple of hundred years. That's what Australia is all about.
I think we're all going to have to get used to reading a few nasties from time to time about our D. In making him our idol, we're also hanging him out in front of the nasties for a free go if they wish. We just have to continue to spread the good word!
I converted a whole dinner party of about 10 on Saturday night in Melbourne (they were a tough crowd to begin with but then I had them asking to listen to my CD and they were all passing around my autographed CD cover and chatting about him and his voice)...it can be done!

I'd love to see a two page news spread that reads: Damien Leith won Australian Idol 2006 fairly and squarely. Rules state you need to be either a) Australian Citizen or b) permanent resident. He is a (in big bold writing) Permanent Resident. He won. Get. Over.It!
