Yes! I'm so happy for Damien. I honestly didn't think he'd make it for most of the week, but today I've had this funny feeling, and I'm glad I was right. I expect the Winner's Journey CD to debut high too - it sold out of all stores here, and I imagine things were similar in other parts of Australia.

I just heard the TOP 40 countdown show on NOVA, that features the newest ARIA chart(it will be posted on their website later tonight). Bianca was hosting today, and she's a big Damo fan.

Guy Sebastian's new song debuted at No 11 - much lower than many of us were expecting. And, that Shannon Noll/Natalie Bassingwaite song only came in at No 7. So, Damien easily beat out all other idols....Scissor Sisters are again his main competition for next week.

Number one for a second week? That's fantastic!! I'm curious to know if the platinum certification has changed.

Weird... I was convinced Guy would be #1 because that single has been heavily promoted and seems so popular. The Shannon Noll one I can understand because the song is on an album as well (although I admit I bought it for the instrumental... ). Oh well, Damien has much more to prove to our resident snarky media than either of those two so I'm happy he's done it.

Yes, I turned Damiens music off so I could listen to the top 5 on the Nova (Aria) Countdown and really hoping that I hadn't missed it. When they got to 3 left they did a promo about what would be the No.1 and they played a snippet of NOML. I knew then that I hadn't mssed it. As soon as no. 2 came on I knew he had the NUMBER 1 AGAIN. Go Damien. According to the Sanity charts he is also No. 1 for the DVD. They change their displays on a Monday so if you go into a Sanity store you should see it up there in top spot. I met him yesterday at Blacktown and he is soooo nice.

Damien's appearance on SUNRISE would have helped CD sales, I'm sure!

Pretty amazing that the album got to number 3 considering that it was on sale on THURSDAY and he had only 2 days to take up the charts.
