I think 'The Winner's Journey' should still be No 1 album, based on the reports of huge sales this week. The single - I don't know, maybe he'll hold on to the top spot for another week?

hmmmm....I reckon platinum <6>. Any takers???
Two days ago I went into the nearest Sanity store to buy yet another as a gift for a friend I have successfully brainwashed (up to number 9 now). I started chatting to one of the sales guys and asked him how sales were going. He said that they had sold out earlier in the day and had to wait for a shipment to come across from another store later in the afternoon. In other words, he said, they were having trouble keeping them on the shelves. I said it was my 9th purchase, and his eyes LIT up, and he started raving...asking me which was my favourite track, etc etc..lol. So even 18 year old boys can be fans....
yep, I reckon platinum 5 at least, with a possibility of 6. And still Number One.

I am thinking that the only thing that might slow them down is, if the platinum 4 is an indicator of what has been shipped...and Sony are saying they have no more to ship...well....
Kris, I meant to tell you I love your new sig and the matching avatar too...way cool!

If Sony had shipped 4xPlatinum (280,000) by last week, and sold 90,000 (last week) + 18,000 (in the first 2 days on sale), that technically should have left 172,000 (that's 280,000 - 108,000) still available for sale across Australia at the beginning of this week. I think sales have probably been strongest in major metro centres, hence anecdotal evidence of it running out, and stock being redistributed from other stores. But I'd be very interested to see how many copies the cd/dvd sells this week, remembering that Monday is Christmas. When the charts were calculated last Sunday night, Damien had already sold over 100,000 units, so I wouldn't be surprised that come Christmas Eve he's sold close to or in excess of 200,000 units. So look for 5P or even 6P next to Damien's name on the charts this Sunday night. That royalty cheque is looking mighty fine methinks.

Definitely 5 or 6X Platinum by the end of the year - the ones left in the stores seem to be selling really well so I'm sure they'll have more shipped in. I hope he's #1 again this week too for the album - I haven't been paying attention to what else is selling well so I'm not sure but he's got a darn good chance I'd say. I don't mind about how the single goes any more - would be awesome if he still had the top spot but he's had it for 3 weeks and that's good enough. He must be rapt with how well things are going.

That 12 Man CD is probably Damien's only serious competition, and the U2 Greatest Hits one too, maybe - in other words, I think those 3 are the big sellers for Christmas this year. Singles Chart - maybe 'Don't Give Up' gets the top spot this week? It's all over radio right now, although the song puts me to sleep.

Just based on what's going on around where I live, Human Nature seem to be selling pretty well lately too. I think I'd better say no more about them. I wouldn't mind too much if it were Don't Give Up taking out #1. Better than some of the other stuff floating around the Top 10! I think it may suffer from people preferring the original version though, so who knows? Damien may just be able to hold on to #1 for another week...
