I tried the break thing for the same reason too, rivers - for WWL and then for CTW but it never lasts too long and whenever I listen again I remember why I'm obsessed Sj, I remember you saying she was when she tagged along, at that time ... but Lol, she's now joined us with the"Amazing!" reaction.

You know how your all saying Bob Dylan is a crap singer? Well i havent heard him sing really, past my time so i just listened to him and um....well your all 100% right lol. I knew he sang Knockin' On Heavens Door, and i absolutely love that song, but i hadn't heard him sing it before. When i did i, well.... i cracked up laughing , i listened to when he singed it live andhe sounded like an elf LOL. Sorry to anyone who likes him. But great songs, his just not a good singer.

I was thinking I was a bit too obsessed to rivers but I know someone who has a fly in fly out job and he said that at the camp he works at the girl in the kitchen plays Damien's music non stop and never plays anything else, so it looks like a lot of people have the same problem.

What, there are singers besides Damien? Ive got a huge pile of CDs of various artists and also on my ipod.. hmmm my CD player and ipod is just totally stuck on Damien. Start the day with the album, end it with the album and quite a few times in between. Its uncurable

I know this is the wrong place to put this, but I can't find the thread about the album cover I think I'm going mad, basically! Just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this... I thought I was seeing things until Dawn sent me a big poster, it's much more obvious on that. So, I'm just wondering... Can anyone else see the "729"?

The 729 Club was a really happening place back in the 60's and 70's. I was too young to go there. It was mainly TV people who went there. Hence the 729, represents Channels 7, 2 and 9. Channel 10 didn't happen until ?? A long time after 7, 2 and 9 were established. The Club was in the St Leonards area, north of Sydney near Chatswood. It was also near to the studios and towers of the stations. I hope I am correct with this information. Like I said, I was too young, but knew of the club. I don't even know if it is still going. I would assume it is, but I don't know for certain. EDIT This is from the website Don’t expect a beer in a hurry, the bar has been closed for well over twenty years now!729club.com/Welcome.html

This is from their brief history
A club once patronised by members of the Sydney radio, television and advertising industry.
The 729 Club was located in the Sydney suburb of St Leonards during what most would call the 'pioneering' days of the Australian television industry.
This website is a reminder of those great days when the club existed and as a tribute to the former and current employees of the broadcast sector, now celebrating over 50 years on the job.
The club doors are now 'open', membership is free, grab a Middy of your favorite beverage, cash in some notes for the pokies. You can even share some photos and maybe catch up with some old mates!
Your contributions in photos, stories and memories are most welcome. Just like the old club, this group will make a great meeting place!
Please spread the word.
And if you're wondering, SBS and TEN weren't around when the original 729 Club was formed but they are still very much part of the history.
Welcome!

Wow, sj, you've still got young eyes obviously That's an interesting piece of info Braffy. I was wondering if the 729 was significant Braffy. I've never even heard of the club though I lived in the area i think the artwork was made by block printing* in some form - so I wonder if it was intentional. *or was the WWL album lyrics? I think it's time to go to bed.

That's really interesting, Braffy... Do you think it has anything to do with the album cover? Funny thing is Nuffy, I'm blind But yeah, I think it was intentional.... I'd love to ask D but he probably hasn't even noticed it himself!!
