Braffy, I now have my own copy! I had heard a little bit of it and to be honest, wasn't too keen (sorry Damien ) and now I have my own copy so I have listened to it many times. I really wanted to love this song, but like Dawn and Roxy, it's a little too country for me too. I have never been a fan of country music Some of the lyrics are great and Damien's voice sounds lovely as always but I have to be honest, this is not my favourite of D's originals. Sorry Damien, that is my honest opinion. Also, just wanted to say, that from time to time, there will be songs that Damien sings/performs/records that not all of us are going to like. It doesn't mean I love Damien any less....and it would be rather unrealistic to think that we are going to adore everything he does. This is a fan forum, we are clearly all massive fans, or we would not be here, but I would like to think that we can come on here and be honest without be told that we are not real fans because we don't love everything that Damien does! *gets off soap box*.

That's fair enough, Carla. It'd be too good to be true if we liked everything he does, and amongst us our tastes in music is pretty varied, Damien covers a lot of genres so we can't love everything he does. At least if we don't like some of them, they're still of a really high standard - none of them are absolutely terrible! To be honest, for my part, a lot of people love Beautiful, but I can't quite get into it. I came very close to getting into it at the Doylo, but I still love the original Winner's Journey tour version the best, and the new version doesn't quite stack up against it for me. Just my humble opinion. That said, I'm actually getting into his Bob Dylan covers now - the key is less thinking of them as a tribute and more thinking of them as taking the mickey out of Bob Dylan's stupid nasally whining! That little whiny-thing Damien does on 'shake your windows and rattle your walls' now makes me laugh instead of cringe!

I actually can't think of any of Damien's originals that I don't like. There are a few covers he has done which I didn't like, but he doesn't sing those particular songs often so it's all good. Usually, even if he is singing a song I don't like that much, I enjoy it anyway just because I like the sound of his voice. You guys who don't like Baby Jane - what do you think of the intro? Do you like it? I think it's really nice. (But then, I love the song. )

I'm enjoying reading everyones opinions on this song whether its liked or not, and its true Carla, we all adore Damien and not everyone is going to like everything he does, Damien has a wonderful voice but there have been a couple of songs that I haven't enjoyed as much as others, this is natural, he can't please everyone all the time. I'm looking forward to hearing something more rockier and edgy also but I am loving Baby Jane too.

Thank you so so much, Tina - You're the one who made it possible for me to finally get this song! It's great to hear everyone's opinions! Personally, I love 'Baby Jane' - I think it's because it's so completely different to any of the originals on WWL. It shows that Damien can sing any genre and any style he likes and can do it extremely well. When I heard it the first couple of times, I didn't think "country" but I do a bit now. I'm not really a fan of country, but I don't mind it either. Also, when I heard it for the first time, the thing that hit me was that it could have been written by Don McLean, Cat Stevens, John Denver... It sounds that good! The lyrics and tune are very catchy - It's just a very sweet song! One or two of D's originals don't really grab me like others and I just think that they're good. This is one that grabs me I'm not too keen on the title either though - Should have called it Sarah Jane, D Not really, lol. For some bizarre reason I can't explain, I don't think 'Baby Jane' suits the song.

I actually really enjoy this song, it's not a show stopper, but I like it. It kind of reminds me of Joshua Kaddison (from the 90's) who was also a great story teller.

I haven't heard it and I am hoping it is going to be on the next originals album. I will be if it isn't. I haven't liked everything that Damien does equally. A lot of you know that 'your favourite track' on CTW is ranked #18 by me. There would only be about 3 or 4 songs that I don't rave over, but many of you do. Only one of those is an original, so I would imagine the statistics are that I would like Baby Jane.
