All I can say is thank God this was filmed - it's amazing that Carla texted "Damien is on fire" because that is exactly how I would have worded it too, tonight was out of this world breathtaking and thanks to the filming everyone will be able to see!!! From the worries over illness Damien gave it everything he had tonight and he was superb from start to finish, absolutely stunning, great showmanship, great singing, great dancing too - including a very memorable "celebration" dance but I am getting ahead of the story The Basement was ROCKING tonight - the audience was many times more into it tonight even before the show started, the room was buzzing with energy and everyone engaged with the show from the moment Damien came on stage. I can't speak highly enough of tonight! So many stories, so many memories, barely know where to start! Carla, Dawn, Braffy, Nuffy, Womby, b/f and I had the most brilliant night, some of us were at tables, some of us at the bar seats, but all had fabulous views and were right in the thick of it. Set list was the same as last night but with the addition of All I Want is You, all the songs were A+++ arrangements and singing. Yet again Damien had the crowd either spellbound, singing along or in hysterics, and so many times I caught myself thinking how wonderful this all was, none of us ever wanted it to end!!!! There will be stories rolling in for days after this one, and I am still getting over it all - lol Damien gave us a workout, our hands are all still stinging from clapping so much - seriously!!! The crowd absolutely yelled for Damien to do Celebration after Eric started playing it, and so he obliged and added some really crazy dancing, lol, just classic Lots more Irish dancing tonight too, wow I love that and am so glad it should all be on the film of tonight. OMG the singing!!! We are all in AWE knowing how sore Damien's throat has been - he pulled out all the stops tonight and gave the show of his life, pure beautiful notes, strong powerful voice. We are completely stunned and so proud to have been there tonight to see him at his absolute best. I am trying to think of song highlights but really - it was all one massive highlight!!!! I think "Beautiful" in particular was perfection tonight - and Damien's playing of the Steinway was exquisite, really really pretty arrangement and then the addition of the other musicians just added all the perfect light and shade - that one blew me away. But then again, they all did! Was so great to be with Womby when Damien started her fav song "Guitar Man" , last night I had missed her being there when I heard it So much audience interaction tonight as well, and Damien spotted us all at various moments during the show and was smiling and beaming, he was in such top form Well, I am a little bit and totally thrilled about a perfect evening. I may come back later but if not, will be back here tomorrow with more WELL DONE DAMIEN and ALL THE BAND!!!! You rocked the Basement tonight, was a true Night to Remember!!!!

Shims, you said it all perfectly! Thanks for posting the report so quickly. I'm still in a serious coma after last night and the surprise attendance at the show tonight (this smiley needs a goofy smile ) OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!! THANK YOU SHIMS for barely* twisting my arm to go tonight (Lol, gotta admit that there was NO resistance!) No-one would've known he was suffering so by the end of last night. No hint at all of his throat problems and, man oh man, he had energy to burn. Yes, Damien was on fire. And that tv show ( please, dvd??) is going to be so worth the wait. But so hard to do Braffy won't get back for a long while and asked me to post the set list for her. Wonderful managed to scribble it out again tonight even without her specs Here we go... very similar to last night but I'm trying to work out how he made it different for there to be such a spark to tonight's show. Opened with: Catch the Wind Guitar Man (with a bit of Stairway to Heaven)... Womby was in heaven! Annie's Song If Not Just For The Weekend 22 Steps Everybody's Talking (Wa-waha-wa-wa-wahaa... choo-choo!! ) * Interval * On the piano: Beautiful (OMG MORE special arrangement than yesterday, I'm sure!) On the piano: Baby I Love Your Way (just slightly different to yesterday's too, I thought) Hallelujah Vincent Wild World All I Want Is You (not done Yesterday - fun group singing) Encore: Wicked Game/ Irish treatment ;D We finished a little earlier by about 5 minutes. I noticed the chatting was a little shorter and direct -probably that helped. Still very funny and very natural. And the audience lapped it up.
