Hi Guys Just back at the hotel again and having a nightcap. Was a lovely night, Damien was in fine form and wearing the!Black!Suit!of!Suaveness! complete with unbuttoned shirt gorgeous gorgeous. A bit of an upset for them tonight as poor Indi was taken very sick. She was there but downstairs all night resting to try to get better. So tonight on stage it was just Eric and Damien - just like at the Vanguard and they were wonderful!! It did mean a few changes to the set-list though and some slightly different arrangements. For example no Wicked Game tonight but Damien still did his Irish dance during All I Want Is You. Was funtarsticof course. He also did the Celebration jumping about, always love that Back in a moment!

Dawn and Braf have the set list for you all, but it was an unusual one as they took NO BREAK! So we were thinking, OMG this is a long first act but then Damien said just a few songs til time for bed, so we realised they were going straight through. He came back and did 2 encores, Danny Boy (beautiful as always) and All I Want is You (fun sing-a-long) A nice moment, at the very beginning Damien spotted a note placed for him on stage by Braffy, we all thought we should make a sign so she wrote it, "Neski is here" with an arrow pointing to where she was. We were up the front table, Neski was in the "romance corner" with her lovely b/f So Damien spotted the sign and looked over and gave Neski the most gorgeous big smile and her proud forum aunties/mums/big sisters were delighted to see Lizottes is obviously a very musically in touch audience, similar to the Basement in that respect though much smaller. It was a lovely cosy venue. Absoultely brilliant food, some of the best we've had yet on tour. I had smoked Atlantic salmon, was just divine. We all shared desserts amongst us, and divided up strawberry trifle and chocolate walnut slice with rich choc sauce so everyone had samplers - yuuuuuuum Brian Lizotte (owner) said at the end wow what a night, Damien rocked Lizottes and I would totally agree! Oh another fun moment was when Damien did his holding that big note in one of the songs (ahhh can't think which now it's late at night) and he had arranged with the sound guy to hold the note even though he was nowhere near the mike. Then Damien took a drink while "invisible Damien" kept singing. He then said he was a good ventriloquist and had been planning that joke since this afternoon. Lol, was a good one

Back again, I'd better write while I can as it's fresh in my head now and I'll be away a few days, though will still try to get online and say hi if possible. Was such a shame not to have Indi there tonight on stage but was a sort of nice full circle thing too like the Vanguard just with Eric and Damien. OMG poor Eric has had some troubles, Damien told onstage how he closed the van door on Eric's fingers the other day then he left his shoe behind in Ballina I think and they are mailing it to him I love seeing Eric and Damien together, they have such a great rapport and really laugh from the heart together at times on stage. I took some lovely pretteh (hopefully!) and will post when I can, might try to do a couple tonight if I can remember my passwords on the road Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to see Damien to say hello tonight but at least we were all up nice and close and got to enjoy a brilliant show and see him the best possible way you could in a show. Lol, and no, as one of the others said, though we were in spitting range, we didn't need an orange raincoat The stage even was lower than the Basement, so Damien could have definitely just reached over & patted out heads lol, it was that close. Sound was brilliant at Lizottes. I think of all the shows so far that would be up there with the best sound. Ok I think that is it? I'm sure there is more but I am collapsing after getting some sun today, in Sydney that's a rare things these days So for those who enjoy knowing these things - Bed Hair! Chest Hair AND Black!Suit!of!Suaveness! with the new black shirt of hawtness unbuttoned and black jeans Was a lovely evening, I have been to many shows now but have loved each and every one. Farewell Phase 1 of the Tour, it's been brilliant, and good luck to Damien and the guys for Phase 2

Back again, lol I keep remembering things Damien did a vote tonight and did Crying (stunning, and it was a sing-a-long!) THEN he threw in a special surprise and did CREEP with backing from Eric!! WOW!!!!! He also did American Pie tonight and was having a laugh leading us on into thinking he was doing it then stopping, then going as far as he knew the lyrics for, he said

;D Too right we were up close and personal. Damien had the pointy shoes on and if he had kicked a bit more in his Irish Dancing stage he would have kicked me fair and square If it was the can can he would have. You know the saying about no room to swing a cat. Well, I was in the front seat of the table of 4 and if I had tried to swing it I would have knocked Damien out Verrrrrry, verrrrrrry nice seats thank you very much Mr Lizotte It was a shame that Indi was sick. Dawn sent a rose to her via George who also received a rose before the show started. This was officially the end of Phase 1 CTW Tour. As Shims said, the set list changed due to Indi not being there. I was sure that Beautiful would disappear because Indi plays such a prominent part in it but I am pleased to say that it stayed in and was truly a beautiful rendition. Creep made and unexpected appearance. It wasn't on the set list and Crying had won the audience vote. When Damien started doing Creep, poor Eric, who hadn't done it before and didn't know it was coming had to join in and go with the flow. When I first arrived there were 2 A4 posters of Damien in the bathroom area. When I went back there later they were missing. Thank goodness I had a big bag The menu had Damien Leith written on the front. Maybe one of the girls can take a digital photo of the menu sheet and post it. A really funny thing happened to Neski's b/f but I will leave it for Neski to tell you Damien and co had to get away quickly because he is due to be at the International Airport to be on the MIX 106.5 brekky show with Sonia Kruger and Todd Mc Kenney at 6 am. The show is being done from the Airport because Sonia is leaving to go to Beijing to cover the Olympics for Channel 7. Poor Damien, he must be bugg***d I will leave the rest for Dawn and Neski to write up some more. Damien spoke of the underwear being thrown on stage but since Eric went to Guam it seemed to have stopped. I will let the others talk more on this It was a terrific night. At the end I was talking to one of the staff and she had nothing but praise for Damien and how well he sounded. The fact that he has been booked to go back there again on the 27th November and tables have already been sold for that concert is testament itself. He was booked to go back even before he did this concert. His reputation preceded him. [glow=red,2,300]THANK YOU DAMIEN FOR A FANTASTIC PHASE 1 CTW TOUR[/glow]

Ah it sounds like a wonderful night Shims and thanks for dropping in so late to tell us all about it. I hope Indi gets well soon. Wonderful that Damien acknowledged Neski and well done Braffy with the note to let him know she was in the audience. Lizottes looks and sounds like a fantastic venue and I'm with you with the smoked salmon Shims, I adore it! What a hoot! Love that wicked sense of humour. Ouch! Poor Eric! Having a car door slammed on your hand at any time is not good but especially so when you're a guitarist! And at Eric leaving his shoe behind in Ballina. I wonder when he realised that he was only wearing one shoe?

Hi Braffy, welcome back. That was a lovely gesture to send Indi a rose, well done Dawn. Ooh it does sound like you were very up close and personal. Now I have this image of Damien kicking someone in the head as he's dancing on stage. at the bathroom posters disappearing. Damien is going to be wrecked having to travel back to Sydney tonight and then be at the airport for the 6:00am show in the morning. Great news about the tickets selling well for the Lizotte's show in November. Well done Damien.

I also forgot to say that I was so close, that I had to move back from the stage to try and take a photo. I din't take too many because of the flash. I couldn't get all of Damien in. My camera is the dinosaur. It was lovely also that George came over to us before the show and had a lovely chat with us. That is how we found out about Indi before the rest of the audience. At that stage her microphone and chair were all set up. They then came and took them away. She must have been leaving it til the last possible moment before she pulled out. Dawn is always thoughtful and always has the right things with her. I am on fast reply so I don't have any smilies. I will try and guess the codes :daisies: Let's see how I went.

Oh I should say too, wow what an elegant dancer Damien is, his feet were light as a feather doing his Irish dancing, it was fabulous to watch (wow right up so close) and his pointy patent shoes (love those shoes!!!) gave him an even lighter look. Wish I had been fast enough to capture that on film but his jig took me by happy surprise at a different spot tonight, so glad he still did it, I love it!

You did well with the smilies Braffy. Shims I have often said that I think Damien would be a great dancer and I loved his little Irish jig in Canberra, it just wasn't long enough. ;D He just seems to be so light on his feet and I wonder if any of the reality dance shows have noticed? Could you imagine watching Damien dance on TV every week? It may sound stupid but I feel a bit sad that phase 1 of the tour is over but I'm so much looking forward to phase 2 (and 3 and 4 and more. ;D)
