Dublin is only 40kms from Newbridge. About 30 - 40mins travelling depending on time of day. We have all the peace and beauty of the countryside here, and the buzz of Dublin on our doorstep.

Oh good then Dublin can be my base ........ might need to trip down to Gorey which I think is an hour out of Dublin

Thanks for posting all these Noeleen - and for all the information you offered last night about the scenes in the NOML special - all very interesting. I esp like that shot of the mill! No problem wombat, anytime. I'll see if I get any more nice shots over easter. Maybe I should start a Milltown thread and post photos and facts so you can all be familiar with what you will see when you eventually make it to D's hometown! That's a great idea Noeleen! Don't knowe if I 'll ever be lucky enough to get to Ireland but I can dream

I've driven through this area on my trip around Ireland in 1999. Very misty and green as I recall. I also stood in the quadrangle at Trinity College with my mother and brother it was very impressive. Don't remember any of those pubs though, lol.
Thanks Noeleen for all those shots - very illuminating.
Any chance you can scan the cover of Leaf's album and post it as well?

Thanks for all that info Noeleen You should start up a thread with info on Ireland. It seems a lot of people would like to go there and we'll need to know what to check out So did Leaf have a full album? I suppose there's no way of getting a copy of it

Noeleen, you truly are a gem. Thank you so much for the photos, they are fantastic. The Milltown Inn is nothing like I imagined it would be. I was expecting a tiny little country pub but the Inn looks quite large. The photo of the mill is stunning and I'll definitely be using that in a future banner. I love the rolling greenery looking out to the Hill of Allen. It is beautiful countryside and this is what I picture Ireland to look like. It would be great if you could start up a thread of all things Irish. Photos, geography, slang, recipes. ;D

SJ, that would be fantastic. We'll just have to check with Admin to see where to put it so that it doesn't get lost. Perhaps in the Members Area would be best. You and Noeleen could just start a new thread and ask Neski, Murf or Winterlong for it to be pinned so that is doesn't slide down the page. This will be great and perhaps Mrs. L. will join in as well.

No problem! I'll think about what we could put on it, and find some stuff. Maybe we could get it started before the end of the week? I could do some phrases in Irish, along with a pronunciation guide ;D
