The new song was called "Goodnight" Damien said that he wrote it for a lady he knew who had just lost her husband. So it is a very poignant ballad (sang very beautifully at the piano ). As Rivers has already said, the show was fantastic and I must say the lighting for this show was superb. It was nice meeting you Rivers and catching up with Carla, Braffy and Shimmery and Carla's two delightful girls.

Yes, CHPRSL has always been able to put on a great show for many artists.. Have seen quite a few shows there on a Sunday. The way they do the shows is probably why they consistently win the "entertainment club of the year" award. Lighting is so important. From where i was sitting, Damien often had a light "halo" around him... very apt!!!

Hi lovelies, well I am absolutely exhausted (I think I say that after every D show..haha)...but this time, I reallllllllllly am. Had a lovely day but it's been a long day and the train home seemed to take hours. It was the longest hour and a half of my life!!!! The girls were going hyper for some reason at a time when I was really ready to settle down and have a quiet trip. Anyway...onto the important things I was in charge of doing the set list...so here goes.. Catch the Wind Annie's Song Cold Cold Heart Unchained Melody Guitar Man (with Stairway to Heaven) 22 Steps Hallelujah SKY ON PIANO!!! GOODNIGHT ON PIANO!! Danny Boy Alone Everybody's talking with sing along All I want Is You Encore: Beautiful on piano!!!!!!! Great Balls of Fire!!!! (not all of it but enough to get the crowd going totally)...loved it.. Wicked Game with Irish Dancing A fantastic set list. Goodnight is just stunning....a beautiful ballad and Damien said that he will be testing out new songs through the tour, some rockier, some more mellow and we were the first people to hear this. Even George mentioned after the show he had not heard it and loved it too Sky and Beautiful in piano were just simply stunning! A little moment for me, just to prove what a total sap I am...haha. During Beautiful, Holly was asleep on me and Madi was leaning on me and singing along and I just looked at their precious faces and cried through almost the entire song. It is one of those songs that can bring out so much emotion depending on your mood, and at that time, I felt soooo totally blessed to have 2 of my beautiful children with me! Madi has not stopped talking about Great Balls of Fire. She thought that was the fantastic and it really came out of nowhere...haha. Damien sang this bit: You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain Too much love drives a man insane You broke my will, But what a thrill Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire .... and then he did the: KISS ME BABY! Ooooh feels good! To which I was the ONLY PERSON in the audience to let out a really big WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! *insert really embarrassed face here* It really was a fantastic show...I am guessing you have had the wardrobe report? I haven't read the other posts sorry. Black jeans, red top with a print on it, and black leather jacket. We also sang Happy Birthday to Jarvis when Eils and the boys arrived and that was so cute I am going to add more as it comes to my mind but my poor brain has taken a vacation and needs to recharge. Lovely to meet you Rivers and thanks Braffy for being my wonderful travel partner...we always have a good laugh don't we? Thanks for being so kind to the girls too! They think your dancing rocks...haha. And thank you to Shims and Maggiemay for being such lovely company too as always...*MWAH* Thank you Damien for an AMAZING show!

Woooo am back from my first ever matinee show! Damien was in funtarstic form, just brilliant Great relaxed Sunday afternoon show and Damien, Eric and Indi all seemed to be really enjoying themselves and were making great music, as always. As the girls were saying, there were slight changes to the arrangements for Phase 2 in some of the songs, always exciting to hear. Great set today including Alone, Beautiful (with grand piano) and many many others, and of course as you have already read, Damien debuted his new song GOODNIGHT on the piano . Absolutely stunning ballad about parting, in parts it reminds me of the feel of Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over" (one of my fav songs) so I was immediately drawn into the sound of it, and it had a beautiful change in it as well leading into the chorus which is something like "Though I love you, I think it's time that I said goodnight... you will always be my guiding light..." It stayed in my mind really vivdly after Damien finished, very beautiful and classic sounding ballad, I think everyone is going to love it and the audience certainly did. Great moments throughout the show today, as already noted Damien did Great Balls of Fire for fun, then kept going and did a whole verse - he really did it well and those fingers were flying on the piano, was brilliant Many funny moments too today, I just love it when Damien counts in the audience to do the singing and totally does it without warning so everyone is taken off guard, and then everyone cracks up laughing Lovely moment just before he started 22 Steps when Eils, Jarvis and Jagger came into the auditorium and Damien spotted them and sung "Happy Birthday to you" for Jarvis's recent 3rd birthday and all the room joined in. Towards the end of the first act, Jarvs and Jagger were on the back of the stage having a look when Damien was singing Hallelujah, lovely little moment there Also different mix to the set-list today, with Hallelujah finishing the first set. Was so great to catch up with Carla, Maggiemay & Braffy and lovely to meet Rivers and her sis today, and also see little Madi and Holly who just loved the show as well. Just absolutely loved the show and can't speak highly enough of the venue, it was just lovely and OMG amazing lighting, I think would have to be the best lighting of the tour so far, we were all blown away by it.

Thanks for your reports, Shims and Carla!! Great Balls of Fire sounds just , Carla.... hearing Damien sing those words.......... no wonder you remember exactly what part he sang!! And good for you for Wooooooooo hooooooooooo ing!! And Shims, so glad to hear that the audience loved the new song.. sometimes it takes a new song a while to catch on and audiences can be a bit half hearted with a totally new original, so that's great that the whole audience (and not just the Damienites ) loved it!! I've just seen Rivers photos, and noticed how fantastic the lighting looked in them, it must have been great live!

Oh yes, the lighting...it was the best lighting I have seen. It was a shame I was not closer to the front to get some better pics so I would imagine that Rivers got some great photo's. I can't wait to see them Oh and Damien....OI....what is with you picking on the Wollongong singing huh? Not once, but like FOUR TIMES??? Damien did apologise to anyone from "Wollongong" in the audience...which of course, was probably only me! And Damien's little stories were cute and funny as always, some variations to them but wont go into too much detail as you will all get your turns really soon

Yeah Tina, I have been to two shows in just over a week now and some of the stories and jokes are similar but yes, lots of new stories and cute jokes. Plus, Damien is so good at improvising too Always an entertaining couple of hours and I love seeing the crowd enjoying it. The people around us were laughing at everything and swaying and singing along!!! ;D I was wondering if the stories and craik would be the same, Carla, so there were some differences??
