The queue was getting longer and longer and by the time Braffy and I got back from the room it was halfway in(great timing). There was a bit of blarney at the entry in the shape of the irish doorman....oi!!! where's my ticket??? But braffy snuck in with hers intact. we sat down the front with the frontstalls "damienite" section and Dianna Cormie (manager of the pub down the road) was the first act...Braffy and I thought she looked like the blonde in the Harrigan's ad ;D Next act was The Talented Peta (Peta Evens Taylor).......That's Peta.com.au and she actually was a very pretty girl, with a bubbly personality and a great voice......she sold quite a lot of CDs after her act....There were 500 tickets sold to this show....a really large "picnic" and it really was. Actually....it was quite fortunate that the electricity was cut off (accidentally I'm sure) during her act, but it was just as the waiters had brought out a lot of food which they were serving and it was suddenly Pitch Black . Eric was standing having a wee drink and saw us waving and he had a huge grin on his face. Braffy started nudging me saying "Brad's over there" and I turned to see Brad....formerly 'Zookeeper' from New FM waving at me, So I went across and hugged him and met his partner. He told me how he'd taken her recently to a couple of other shows, but decided it was time she heard someone with a great voice ;D ;D Well said Brad!!!! but they decided to sit up the back rather than in front of the speakers. Hope to talk with him soon and hear what he thought. Brad is now the music programmer/manager at NewFM and I introduced him to Indi and George who were standing with us. He remembered George from Newcastle. Indi was also telling me how excited she was with the venue / open air , but she had her sore throat back again.....get well Indi , hate to see you sick again. Next we had 4 attractive young ladies doing Irish Dancing, dressed in black and gold and quite good and lively......although D "I'm sure they weren't embarrassed by anyone else's dancing Finally...........at 9:00pm ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have the Playlist as well as the original list ;D We started with the Wonderful 'Catch the Wind' which ledinto that song we all know ;D ha! apparently 'Irishman in New York' and of course we had to sing along...........Next we had the tale of the unfortunate Eric and............. the metal in the eye, but 'really it was nothing much'.....'but it was metal!!!!' 'oh yeah'and 'then there were the fingers in the car door'.......'which was closed on the fingers by Damien!!!!' ha! they forgot theshoes........ Then came 'Cold Cold Heart' with a guitar solo by Eric and then we were led into 'Fisherman's Blues' and a singalong. D then gave a demonstration of the Celebration hop and did we want to hear it.....Yeah!!!!!!!!!! So a small piece of Celebration and his dance plus the judges reactions,,,,,,Mark covering his face, Marcia saying like yeah man that was really bad and Kyle watching a girl haa!. Then D talked about his dance moves and showed the slinky hip side step and how he would appreciate any encouragement and cheering Next was 'Annie's Song' followed by the unrequited love for Ashlyn and 'The Wall' and how he was doing a song about stalking, but not really............'22 Steps' and a guitar solo and the mouth over mic by Eric. Now came 'Guitar Man' which moved into 'Stairway to Heaven' and we had Indi on the shaker, with Eric retorting "Do you want me to shaker?' haha Then that fantastic song for Carla......my good friend Carla M........., and of course she is and she and Eils are great friends too.....we were so excited and screaming, yelling and trying to sing Happy Birthday to Carla..... just awesome........ ;D. I think after that singalong D decided we should continue in that frame and sing 'Everybody's Talking' with the waaahwahhhhwahhhhwahhhh toot toot!!!! There were a few mentions about the bad singing in Wollongong, with Eric making sure everyone knew it was Dapto and we had the funny trick with the held note with D taking a couple of drinks and poor Eric holding the note, but eventually singing "I'm running out of breeeeeeathe" ;D The beautiful 'Beautiful' was dedicated to Ryan and next we had the amazing Hallelujah with the Sleepwalker solo by Eric.

We were treated to the fantastic 'Message to my Girl' wonderful followed by another favourite 'Baby I Love Your Way' and then to braffy's delight 'All I Want is You' ;D ;D. By then we had the tipsy dancers up the front and D reckoned they were doing the carpark threatening thing for 'Danny Boy' so 'Danny Boy' it was.....some people were yelling 'Wicked Game' mind you ;D and so were rewarded with 'Wicked Game' and the irish dancing followed by.................................................. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee a longer version of 'Kiss' and they finished with an Irish theme again. mannnn my hands were hurting by the end....but we stood up at the end and gave a resounding ovation. They were selling D's merchandise here as well ;D ;D ;D The lovely man Eric was up for a big hug at the end too ;D The main differences from the list were: No Catch the Wind, No Everybody's Talking, No Danny Boy........but should have had Night of My Life, Wild World, If and With or Without You.

Thanks so much Shims You know, Dale had videoed the entire thing, even when he was talking about me and when he was going through the pics and deleting the blurry ones, he thought that was a pic and deleted the video. He is so upset as he had it from beginning to end So I am so glad Shims caught some of it...*MWAH* Awww Carla I so feel for poor Dale. he must feel so shattered. but he's got so many other memories recorded and so great that Shimmery and b/f caught some of it for you.

There was a little blarney in the dining room too, as it closed at 10:30 pm but we still managed to retrieve the yummy cake out of the cool room, be lent a lovely sharp knife, have plates supplied and the lovely waiter's lighter, we even ended up with spoons. It was at this point that Harrigan's delicious Shiraz was discovered ;D ;D and the party was in full swing when we were joined by Damien, who somehow came across "The Hut" and yesssss! we had 3 males already in the Hut ;D ;D ;D ;D. May I say, I really enjoyed the company of ALL you wonderful people......... Poor Damien was at the end of my emphasis on vaccinations for Asia....man I'm a dag, but he did say he'd make sure to check with the doctor. Hmmmmmm......I recall at one stage dancing with Shims' b/f, Carla and coughanotherpersoncough Shims. The Hut continued until we had to leave.....maintaining the tradition of being kicked out of Irish Pubs (Kath ;D sound familiar? ) By then, the co-operative waiter had been rewarded with rainbow Mud cake as had the Manager ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D hehe the sweet tooths. We decided to come over to a buffet breakfast (free!!!!) somewhere between 8:30 and 9:30 and went to our rooms. Braffy and I talked and drank coffee/tea until I decided to havea shower just before 3:00am. I will endeavour to get up what I can as soon as I can. But am now nackered and need to request. Thank you lovelies and the various partners Thank you Damien, Eric and Indi I'm sorry you missed it Hyper and hope mum is starting to feel better........lots of water ;D

VIDEO MESSAGE TO MY GIRLThanks so much to b/f who so kindly filmed this for me so I could enjoy watching lol, as Sis might say, Damien "Shines like the Sun" here as my old camera just couldn't cope with the lights (this was my backup after the camera phone died) and Damien is a little like a sunbeam here with the lighting effect, but all the same I hope you enjoy, he does this song so beautifully thank you Shimmery b/f for filming Message to my Girl I loved that arrangement. I think I've only heard Damien sing this at the Basement on the piano (which was totally divine ) and I'm sure this guitar and violin version would've been up there too, live I'm going to play it again and again till i find any other vids... thanks so much for posting it shimmery

No Catch the Wind, No Everybody's Talking, No Danny Boy........but should have had Night of My Life, Wild World, If and With or Without You. Wow I never realised Catch the Wind Everybody's Talking weren't on the original set list, so glad Damien did still open with Catch the Wind, I just adore his version of that song lol, Eric was in good form too last night wasn't he, lots of good banter with him and Damien and he was sweet to give us all that big smile and wave from the side of the stage during the support acts. We asked him if those shoes he was wearing were of the pair of the one he left behind that time but I'm not sure whether he said yes or no, it was more a "maybe" That didn't make much sense did it but after this weekend that's as good as you'll get out of me That's right, Peta.com.au who was introduced as the very "talented Peta" - and indeed she was! I really enjoyed her set, especially her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow which was sensational and got much cheering and applause (done the Billy Thorpe way, I'm pretty sure but Braffy could confirm that). KISS was awesome, I'm just sorry none of us was taping it as we were all just wanting to take in the moment. Damien did an extra long version as said and belted it out, we all loved it.

Dawn, OMG lol you are something else, you outlasted the rest of us last night and yes, that WAS you I saw gliding past Greek dancing with b/f around midnight I was chatting with Carla, saw movement out of the corner of my eye and looked up to see you both flying along sideways doing kicks with your feet, and doing it very well too Then we all wanted a go, of course so we made a big line and off we went - lol - *someone's* interpretation of Greek dancing was quite unique, I'm not sure what steps she was actually doing there, but they were certainly creative thank you Shimmery b/f for filming Message to my Girl I loved that arrangement. I think I've only heard Damien sing this at the Basement on the piano (which was totally divine ) and I'm sure this guitar and violin version would've been up there too, live I'm going to play it again and again till i find any other vids... thanks so much for posting it shimmery You're so welcome Nuffy, glad you enjoyed it! I think I must be losing the plot, did Damien sing it at the Basement? I couldn't remember hearing it since the TWJ tour? I agree, the guitar/violin version is just gorgeous and I was taken by surprise too, being used to hearing it with keyboards. Am nearly finished uploading Fisherman's Blues Will post soon.

No worries, Nuffy, I am so tired at the moment I was having trouble remembering! Thanks for checking back to see! We all missed those of you who couldn't be there LOL that hill!!! as it turned out we were in no danger of rolling after all - the stage was in fact built on the hill, and faced back into the terrace - not the other way around as we had thought originally, in the end it was all levelled out So Damien never did end up getting the chance to try to catch us as we went rolling past after we hit the high notes and went flying backwards Ok here we are VIDEO Fisherman's Blues with the Damienite choir joining in & belting it out down the front as well Carla's Birthday song video and Message to My Girl are posted on the previous page. I'll post these in the photo gallery section later on as well
