I agree Braffy..I don't want Wes's album to bomb. But I also don't want Damien's album to sound like Wes...
I think people were commenting mainly cause he's said that he wrote 3 of the songs on the album.. and we are thinking that he should have said co-wrote...as Damien has written the songs for the album..from what we can gather.

Agreed Smiley. What point would there be in D sounding like Wes? None, as far as I can see. Co-writes are the only things that make sense, to me. Rockier and edgier is cool, of course, but with Damien's flavour. (or flavva!) And no, I don't want Wes to bomb either. (Well, maybe just a weeny bit..) because that says very worrying things about the music business.

I would think it good for any Idol 'graduate' to have as many other Idol 'graduates' as possible do well. I know I'd rather have D belong to a club that boasts have members who produce good (and lets face it, popular) music and have respected careers than a club whose members are known as having initial success boosted by a television show then fading into the distance.
I'm a bit meh about the TJay news, not because I think there is any risk of D sounding like Wes or any other artist for that matter. It seems TJay is partly responsible for 'You' and 'Feels Like Woah'....two very infectious pop rock tracks seemingly written for radio. I was hoping D wouldn't necessarily go down the radio friendly track.... But HEY, it could be a beautiful partnership! I'm just looking forward to hearing new music.

Been saying the same thing about Idol alumni success and crediblity myself Winter. Thanks for reminding me.

So, we now have it from the horse's mouth (Damien's) that yep, he's co-written some songs with TJay, but it is still unclear whether they will make the album. He begins recording on Tuesday! Woohoo!!!!!

If the producer is from Scotland, why was he originally going to go to LA to record the album?

If the producer is from Scotland, why was he originally going to go to LA to record the album? You'd probably have to ask him that, Spuddy. ..but I can think of a couple of possible reasons. 1) Perhaps Stuart was working over there and D was going to travel to him? 2) The studios are great over there. or 3) The producer he originally wanted was unavailable...but I don't think that's likely, from what he's been saying.
