I cannot do a full report right now as I am utterly exhausted. We have had very very little sleep over the past few nights...poor Roxy and Sister have had even less than myself and Dawn. They are going to be so shattered by the time they get back to Brissy tonight.

I cannot express in words how amazing these shows were. Both nights were THE BEST!

We have so many stories and things to tell you all but I only have 5 minutes online

I promise to write more tomorrow and do a full report.

Have just got home myself..after being away for a few days and was going to write about a very Squeeeeeeeee-ful phone conversation I had with the tarts girls yesterday

...but Carla is back and WHOA!!! Squeeing her little heart out!!!

Bring it on Carla! Can't wait to hear more!

Apologies for the lateness, but I'm a trainbus wreck took my pill.....but an hr on the train , a long walk to the bus checkpoints, a wait and a 3 hr bus ride over bad roads (we had to keep going out onto coast like Gosford, Woy Woy....blechhh. Anyway....we were pretty much first to arrive at the Brass Monkey and went in, but decided to not sit straight down at our table at the very front, so ordered drinks and were heading to the stools at the back when we heard talking and Indi laughing......oh goodness they're all here!! As we were walking with our drinks to the stools Damien waved, so we waved back and went into the adjacent section to sit. Next thing we hear a familiar voice and we all turn around and see the hawt outfit . Damien came across to see us:o I'm sure he saw us all look up and down as we took it all in ....how I saw it.......shiny black shoes, tight black jean, long sleeve white shirt, black vest and tie and sparkling eyes He tried to tell us he was wrecked ha! we told him how good he looked and he told us we were looking gorgeous ;D. We did manage a quick hug and talked briefly about what he'd been doing...his Christmas deadline for the novel and how he'd been writing for 10 hrs a day and hoped to be finished by the time he set of for Melbourne,so he'd only have to fine tune and tweak bits and pieces before submitting.
I happened to mention to D that poor Carla had never heard one of her favourite songs Creep and hoped there was a chance of hearing it. D mentioned there was a problem in that there was no backstage. Someone offered to have the others at our table (with extra chairs) if that was all that was needed ha> Damien indicated he'd try for Friday night ;D ;D Damien went back to the others and we had a bit more to drink before we moved down to our table(which, of course, was moved even closer) ;D
After Jimmy did a sound check and set up his guitar, gave him a hug and offered him a seat at our table so D could sing Creep Jimmy was talking about the Vanguard being his next venue as Ray was doing the Melbourne section. ;D Poor Indi's right wrist is a mess with a combination of RSI and over extension with her day job. You'll see in the pics,she has a cast and was on painkiller cocktails to get her through the show.
While we ate, a couple hardly did, the support act performed and were extremely good....I enjoyed them, was listed as Gemma Wood and Peter Northcote and I didn't catch the 3rd name. But they were upbeat and rocky and got the crowd into a good mind frame....Gemma has a great voice....they started at 8:15 and finished close to 9:00.
Damien came on about 9:15 and dedicated his first song to the 4 gorgeous ladies at the front and it was Never Meant to Fail

Damien did happen to mention that we threatened to beat him if he didn't sing NMTF as if........
After NMTF Damien started talking about about underwear and Carla gave D the Christmas thong with a Christmas hat Naughty but Nice ;D because he's discovered he's also now Santa. He put the thong up to his nose though and said he thought someone had worn it ...we wanted a demo of how it should be worn ha! as if the poor man would, especially as there were more females in the audience this night Jimmy also sang harmony in CTW.

Indi was then introduced and D said how he thought she was innocent and quiet, but found out otherwise , but she was bravely playing with her arm in a cast. After GM/STH , D talked about 2008 Idol and at one stage mentioned Mark's name and Roxy yelled out Sex on Fire, Roxy will explain that though. He then gave a Celebration demo , but had also shown his side hip slide. When he started playing AS Carla said ....oh Grannie's song and Roxy turned around to her and said Grannie's song? But it must have been loud enough to hear on stage as Indi cracked. Someone might remember why he did it, but D also sang the first line of Feel Like a Woman
D then talked about having to go to "school" because Jarvis had beaten up a kid at school....an accident of course and said how he'd had to use the old talk about Santa not coming and he then burst into Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
After NJFTW Damien talked about how the boys take after their dad .....so handsome
He also talked about his new novel and it wouldn't be published forsome time....later in 2009
D then talked about the girl at school rejecting him and unrequited love before singing 22 Steps - the stalking song
He then talked about how he sang the next song at his wedding and sang Creep. With massive screams at thestart
D also sang MTMG accompanied only by his guitar and he said that was the first time sung that way.
Indi and Jimmy both did the Sleepwalker solos too ;D
With the ET singalong, Damien said he thought that it was the best singing ever in all 70 shows. The girls were doing toot toot, but Damien wasn't getting the audienceto do that and Indi turned around grinning and said 'You girls have been to too many gigs!!'
Gave Damien a whiteT-shirt with a green shamrock and large printing ..... KISS ME
I'M IRISH
and we did get the Irish Dance in WG.
Walking back to the Hotel Carla and Sis walked one side andRoxy and I crossed over far too noisy on one side of the street, but the girls can explain that

THIS WAS THE MOST AMAZING SHOW


(A little story just as we arrived in Cronulla off the train....As Sis, Carla and I were walking off the platform, (we met on a station and didn't even know we were on the same one) we looked over the rail lines and we saw a sign "Brass Monkey"
Woohoo we all yelled! we didn't know if this was going to be the front entrance or the back entrance at this stage, but our attention was soon diverted to a place with a sign right next to it!! "OUCH! Brazillian Waxing!!" it said!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Damien came out looking absolutely gorgeous!! White Shirt with sleeves rolled up, black tie, black vest! Black jeans! (Pics in the photo gallery)

We arrived at the Brass Monkey around 7pm, and I was blown away with the atmoshere of the place! Very dark, very initmate, candles on the tables, just what we have been looking forward to.


We were quite early as not too many people were there! We decided to sit down the back (so as not to look too eager!! haha) and have a drink first before going to our FRONT table! Just as we got our drinks, we get the most amazing surprise! Damien came around the corner and greeted us with a big hello and hugs and kisses all round! Squeeeeeeeeeee!
I just knew this was going to be a fantastic gig from that moment on! and it was.

We ordered dinner, (which wasn't really my cuppa tea ) and waited for Damien to come on.

WELL, when he did he got the loudest of applauses from the room, our table was the loudest all night by far!

Damien dedicated NEVER MEANT TO FAILl to the gorgeous ladies in the front and pointed at us and winked! OMG that was it for me! I was just beside myself for the rest of the night
and floating on cloud 109! Just as he was about to do the next song, he looked down, then over at jimmy and they both looked liked they were sharing a private joke, when Damien announces to everyone that he was about to start the next song, but didn't know what it was!! THERE WAS NO SETLIST!!! Woohooo! I yelled out at this point that we would do the set list if he wanted! ha.


When he sang CREEP we just erupted again and didn't think it could get much better with the set list when he started singing MESSAGE TO MY GIRL!! OH MAN we were all just blown away by it all and thought we had died and gone to heaven.

Damien's voice was FRIGGEN AMAZING! It didn't faulter all night and I was just amazed at the heights that he was reaching in some of those songs! I loved it when he started singing
Santa Claus is coming to Town! haha! I loved all the songs on the Setlist and the Toot Toot's were so much fun (for us anyway LOL) as you all know I just love it when Damien does
the WAA WAAA WA WA Bits and I just melted into a puddle on the floor with this song too! *sigh*

Damien just gets better and better with each show, and the banter/jokes I never tire of. He really is the most amazing man!!

he is SO TALENTED! TEH VOICE!! TEH HUMOUR!! TEH MOVES!!
TEH SEX APPEAL!!

he just makes the whole show an experience to remember! Some people that just go along to have dinner and maybe catch a show, (not really Damien fans!) they come away with so much love for the man! I heard a few in the toilets later saying "I didn't realise JUST HOW GOOD HE WAS! I love that!

Sis has the most funniest things to mention too! What a scream.

and Yes, Damien was asking the audience about Idol! and asked if everyone liked Wes as the winner etc, he said he thought he was great, and I called out 'NOT AS GOOD AS YOU! or or something to that effect anyway! lol. Then he asked what we thought of Mark Spano! I didn't even hesitate and called out SEX ON FIRE! I'm not sure if D thought I was saying HE was Sex on Fire as he kinda giggled and blushed! haha.

It was so funny when Carla gave Damien the little CHRISTMAS PACKAGE!! he had just made mention of the LEOPARD PRINT THONG! So Carla jumped out of her seat and handed it to D, he opened it up and like Dawn said he put it up to his nose and said he thought someone had been wearing them!! eeeeewwww! Well done Carla, you have now been initiated into the world of TARTNESS! and there's no turning back!

Dawn gave Damien a white T-shirt that said Kiss me I'm Irish and some lovely flowers. ;D

Well I will be remembering bits and pieces all day and probably for the next few weeks I imagine so stay tuned.

THANK YOU DAMIEN FOR THE MOST AMAZING TWO SHOWS! you were ON FIRE and took our breaths away on more than one occasion with your singing!
