WOW WOW WOW AND WOWOMG What a weekend we have had. The girls have said everything but I will put it the way I saw it all.
As you know we met Carla at Sutherland Rail Station and squeeeeeees and hugs all around. Roxy and I were so over Planes and Trains and Automobiles by the time we reached Cronulla I can tell ya.
We couldn’t wait to ditch our bags and be free of them. We did that and malled it with Carla. Talking and talking and talking.
Dawn finally rang me and we met her in the mall. I called out really loud in the middle of the mall hello lovely lady as she was still a ways from us.
I didn’t care what anyone thought, hell I was on holiday.
We all met up and more squeeeeeing and hugs all around and malled some more while waiting for our room to be ready.
Finally we were able to go to the Ridges and my what a room. It was lovely the penthouse suite on the top floor. Lots of space and beautiful views.
We were in awe of the whole thing. By the time we got settled, it was nearly time for us to get ready, well as you know this does take a long time. So in between
and
and more
we were finally ready to hit the road.
Walking down the mall all dressed up and quite charged, with
Carrots and Cosies in tow (private joke).We got there early and got a drink at the bar. We saw George and had a wee chat and he said he knew we were coming down from Qld for this. I was a bit taken back by that. We then got our drinks and waved back to Damien and went to a spot were they couldn’t see us. We didn’t want to look too eager.
Well we were all trying to get up on these bloody high stools, I am short you know,
and this voice behind me said hello, don’t you all look gorgeous.
OMG as the girls have said, we all just stood their I reckon with our mouths open and looked him up and down. Oh god how HAWT he looked.
We were having a bit of a chat and even Damien said he knew we were coming. Well that did it for me; I felt so special and was on cloud 9.
I did ask how he knew, but he was talking to girls so I guess he does read the threads.
Anyway we sat down and when he came on and dedicated Never Meant To Fail to us, as the girls said we were all gone.
I won’t go into details as the girls have already told you the set list and how we were all gob smacked by hearing all our favourite songs. I made sure there wasn’t an empty glass on our table all night and even gave Damien a drink, so he didn’t feel left out.
It was the most amazing concert and so intimate,
wow just remembering it all takes my breath away.
We gave Damien a standing ovation at the end of the night and a lot of other people did too. I think we led the way though.
Roxy and I were on our way upstairs after the show and I run into George who was selling the merchandise. He saw me and asked if I minded looking after the table for him for a while. Well of course I didn’t, so I stood their talking to people and advising which would be the better CD to buy.
It was quite funny really.
On our way back to the Ridges Dawn and Roxy ditched Carla and I and crossed the other side of the road.
I mean how rude. We were just having fun and singing up the street, nothing wrong with that hey.
The second night we didn’t get there as early and didn’t quite have as much to drink.
We met Carla and her lovely family outside the Brass Monkey and whilst standing there Shims and BF walked down to us. Well once again lots of squeeeeesss and hugs all around.
We went inside and straight to our tables. We ordered our drinks and our meals. We wanted to be finished before Damien came on. Well the support act on the second night, I don’t know their names and I guess I wont really care if I ever find out. My god I remember saying to Roxy, we should have saved the earplugs from the bloody plane. Not my cuppa tea at all.
While Jimmy and Indy were doing sound check and Roxy and Carla had gone to the toilet, George saw me and asked if I could take care of the Drinks. I said not a problem. So I ordered the drinks through the waitress.
Damien came on and what an applause he got. It was truly amazing. He was in fine form once again and his voice, I didn’t think it could get any better but hell yeah.
After the show Carla and I were outside getting some fresh air and all the ladies coming out of the show, were sining hee hee hee hee hee hee. Some had posters and they were truly smitten. It was so great to see the effect Damien has on other people, not just us.
Jimmy came and said hello to us quickly after the show and once again I was walking past George who was selling the merchandise and he saw me and asked me again if I could mind the table. I thought, ok this is 2 nights now.
So I turned into being the Drink Lady and the Merchandise Lady. It was quite funny really.
It was one of the best weekend’s I have had. The company, the man and all the fun. What more could a person ask for.
Shims and BF came back to the Penthouse with us and had drinks afterwards. I don’t remember what time they left. I think it was close to 3am.
I have to thank Roxy, Carla and Dawn for making this such a memorable weekend for me. I had so much fun, and haven’t laughed so much for ages. Thank you all. Love you all to bits.
Can’t wait for next time.
As Roxy has said we will probably remember things for weeks to come yet.
We all even said to each other at one point, "how excited do we all look"
