Just rang our local seafm station and talked to someone re why they do not play damien as it is unfair and actually libelous. was then told that it is not up to the radio stations. THE RECORD COMPANY sends them the music they want them to play to the musical department, asked her then is that the way that songs are played and she said yes. SO SONY She then said that she is a fan of Damiens also but there was nothing she could do. so yes you are right they are getting behind JM WC and GS The politics of the music industry totally suck Why don't you just buy a copy of the TGTY single and send it to them

I'd argue the ARIA charts have never been an accurate representation of the REAL sales figures! And don't believe that the Hot 30 or other radio shows of a similar type reflect what is really being requested. The Hot 30 is given its music by the programmers, and they concoct some sort of chart out of it, and lie to the audience that this is the music their listeners are voting for. It's all Guy this week, he's all over every radio station, and they're flogging to death his new song with Jordon Sparx. If his new album doesn't debut in the Top 5, I'd be surprised, given all the promotion. Perhaps Damien should go overseas? Plenty of other Aussies have been shunned at home, gone to Europe or the U.S and made it big. Damien's got his Irish connection.

They really do suck. If people only knew what really goes on...... I know someone who was in the industry for years and even worked for Aria for a while. Btw, the chart is a total farce and manipulated by the big record companies. I don't know whether I believe that ... That could also mean that Damien's other albums didn't sell as well as we were lead to believe by their position in the charts. But auspOp's sale figures seem to reflect the positions of the albums in the charts (not that I've actually gone through every album on the charts and checked, but y'know). And also, surely if Australian record companies controlled the charts, then Guy's album would have gone to #1 (especially after all the money spent promoting it) and there would be more Australian music in the charts.
