Tarapanda - it sounds like you had a brilliant day - I felt like I was living through the excitement with you!! So glad to hear that Damien has been selling lots of CD's at these shows! You are probably right, it is a good way to win over a new audience and remind people who saw him on idol that he is still around!
I love Tenterfield Saddler (one of my fav Aussie songs) and it would have been fabulous hearing him sing that one live - perfect choice for the occasion!

Sounds like you had a great time Tara and I'm so happy that you got to meet Damien.  I don't understand the 'no photos' rule though. That is a tad over the top IMO.  Damien is more than happy to pose for photos so this wouldn't have come from him. Perhaps the security boys were just getting a bit carried away with themselves. Another question for you Tara.  Does this look like the Akubra Damien was wearing? If so, the Damienites gave it to him to celebrate his citizenship at a luncheon attended by Neski, and a few of the other girls. (Sorry can't remember who else was there now). In any case it's great that he donned the hat, sang Tenterfield Saddler and got into the whole spirit of Australia Day celebrations. He is after all an Aussie!   |

 Tara do you know that wicked thoughts make your hair turn grey? The security guys at Bowral were great and there was no trouble at all. I charmed one of the security guys when we were getting our CD's signed. One of the female fans was saying how gorgeous etc. Damien was and the security guy said "Oh I thought you were talking about me." I said that she was and he was a bit chuffed by that. A little later I asked if he could just move to the left a little for a minute so that I could get another photo of Damien. He said no, but you can come in and stand behind me, which gave me a great vantage point for more photos.

OMG Damien sung Tenterfield Saddler? And he wore the hat?? Would be wonderful if it was the one from DLO for his citizenship, or maybe they did give him one as well when he was made a citizen, if that's the case he would have been given 2 in the same week! - I would love to see him sing Tenterfield Saddler, out in the country is the perfect setting! So glad you had such a fantastic time Tara, it sounded like an amazing crowd too!
It's a shame they wouldn't let you take pics at the signing, it seems to be different rules at each place. They had us moving in a pretty fast moving line too, it was so fantastic to see so many able to meet Damien, it's such a joy when you are able to see him after a show at a signing like that! Everyone loves it so much, being able to see him in persoon & say"hi, what a great show" to him is so special. Great to see so many people being able to experience Remember June at last!!!!
