I was in town today and Merimbula is buzzing about Damien. I was doing my promotional thing everywhere I went (and that's a lot of shops  ). I called into the club to see how the tickets are selling and by the looks of things it will be a full house. There are only 200 tickets for sale and over 150 tickets have already been sold. I was assured the remaining 50 will be snapped up this week. So it looks like we'll have a great intimate little crowd on Saturday night. Club Sapphire has posters of Damien displayed all over the club, one of them is even in a silver frame.  One of the women I was talking to in town today (never met her before - she lives in Bega, 30 minutes north of Merimbula) has only ever seen Damien on Idol and she thought he was wonderful. I told her that he is even better live and not to be missed. She told me she was off to the club to buy tickets! YAY! I've been listening and will continue to listen to our local radio station this week in the hope that they have interviewed Damien prior to the Merimbula gig. I did contact Jennifer after DOTG at Bowral in regard to 2EC interviewing Damien and gave her their contact details. I didn't receive a reply from Jennifer but I'm sure she has it all in hand.  Di, I hope you've arrived safely in Merimbula. Enjoy your stay and I'll see you on Saturday night.  |

Merimbula - a beautiful spot! I remember visiting there and standing on the rugged coastline and jetty (I think it was bad weather at the time, and was blowing a gale, so seemed very rugged!!) I hope you have a fantstic time Mysterri and Di ~ how special to have a concert in your own area Mysterri! |

Thanks lovelies, I'm so excited!  More good news. The local radio station was talking about Damien this morning and they had two free tickets to give away. TGTY was playing in the background and the male DJ said that he loved the song, it's his favourite. The female DJ was saying what a beautiful voice Damien had and then they started mucking around trying to do an Irish accent which sounded more like a British accent. The had another go but just couldn't seem to get it right. I'm hoping that some of the local DJ's are at the show to witness just how brilliant Damien is. To their credit they play all of Damien's singles, including NOML from time to time. I haven't yet heard Forgive Forget but I'm working on it. |
