Woohoo! Odds shortening. I also wanted to mention Bruno Mars' "Grenade" the song they danced to last night - great song, loved the vocals and wow, what an interesting choice! ;D

Yay Di I was sure it was you squeeing. Lol Shimmery, I remember thinking as I was typing about the baby and cheesey performances and how fantastic it all went, etc, etc that I'm sure that it wasn't coming out right about what you and Tina said but by that late stage and still being the thought of editing didn't even cross my mind I could barely stop playing videos last night. Thanks soooo much to Trilly for your uploads. Will you put this in the Megauploads thread too? I was so surprised dwts put their's up so quickly cause last week it took till the next day and I thought your upload would also be a big file. But wonderful that they both were ready. I love how with Trilly's we get the whole package and without those annoying ads which we can't skip past.

Wasn't it all so fabulous Glawz!! Love this show and love being able to see Damien in it each week!! - of course, the natural habitat of my mind can be a bit of a shimmery mirrorball world anyway so I'm absolutely in my element Lol Nuffy, we were all so excited after the fantastic routine and then the great score as well, I think we all had trouble even typing! It's finally clicked! I just remembered Baz Luhrmann's description for his red curtain style of filmmaking which of course included 'Strictly Ballroom' - the world of the dancefloor is that "heightened reality". Mel and Damien expressed the dance so well, even better than last week - it was theatrical and dramatic but still really "real" - it made it so modern and natural but still came across so beautifully as art at the same time. One of the moments that really stood out for me was how Damien was able to keep his expression so masculine AND so graceful in that part of the routine when they did those long sweeping strides in parallel right down the length of the floor (wish I knew the proper terms for these things!). Thought that was an amazing achievement to get that balance so spot on! The song was fabulous for this dance wasn't it - I love listening to the lyrics as the dance goes on as it's so tied to the story of what's going on. It's a real pull push love hate thing going on, they are angry at each other yet compelled towards each other, made for such great storytelling! Really loved how the ending is a little ambiguous, you're not sure whether Damien's character is just worn out from dealing with this woman, or whether they have finally found some sort of common ground - or perhaps she has finally opened up a bit of her heart to him and is wondering why she's pushing him away each time. You get the feeling that as soon as they have recovered from this battle of wills there will be another round - but then the fireworks too which keeps them coming back together. Lol, I'm going to end up writing a whole story about these characters, loving it! I wonder if they make the story first and find a song that goes with it or find the song first? Wow if they found so much drama to tell in a foxtrot - what will they do with a tango! Cannot wait for that week!

Thanks so much for your report Di!! I hope you had a great time as a whole experience, it would have been really something to see all the behind the scenes with how they do the show and to see them dancing in real life and to absorb teh atmosphere - and you can say you were there on a night when Damien got the highest score!

Hope you have had a chance to watch it all several times Di - what a pity to be so close and not able to see properly Shimmery, love your interpretation of the dance. I too was impressed with Damien's facial expressions - he acts very well indeed. Maybe musical theatre has missed a star - remember 'Fiddler on the Roof' with that false beard in Idol? Everyone at work was pretty much blown away by the performance too. The boss (who came to the Brass Monkey in Feb) is VERY keen, and is voting, as is my mum who has never taken much notice of Damien before. The D-lurve is spreading

Know what you mean Kath. As I was laying in bed last night not being able to sleep because of my warm fuzzy feelings for Damien's dancing prowess, it entered my mind that this man also has the makings of a good actor!! Hope there are some talent scouts out there getting an eyefull

Seriously this week was so good..I'm actually worried for the future! I have watched the dance countless times and it blows me away every time. The thing that gets me is D's stage presence. The same thing that made me fall in love with him back in Idol days. He's such a movie star! Seriously, that is the only way I can describe it. When he gets into the soul of the song/dance he transforms. Totally besotted...again!
