Must confess still like Damien in the black jeans and black shoes.
Jorja sang 8 songs and 5 of those were originals
Just a couple of comments as arrived home this afternoon
Damien's first song was an RJ one *Golden Line
what a treat!
and he didn't do Stay until Friday, but did the excuse song,
*A Million Reasons (new song)
Damien's description of himself at 16 was a little
ha with long hair, black shorts and black tights going down to black Doc Martens
ohhhh and a long black coat .
He also said that since Idol he'd had a number of different babies
which didn't really come out right and he realised it and laughed
And Randy Sandy was mentioned too, but they came .....and went
*Sky running into a little of *Easy Like Sunday Morning and after Rocky Road to Dublin, we had *Little Beggarman
Then gave Damien his gift
with a card saying To Mr Perfect,
Wouldn't Change a Thing
and he told his elephant mask story and asked if it was a bribe for the song
ahhhh yes of course, so he did it ....thanks Damien and how appropriate as Mother's Day was near
After Damien did the new song
* Stronger than Superman he did another new song called
*Free which I also enjoyed, it has very different backing music and I thought it was terrific to listen to
Took a friend to her first Damien show and she loved it (has heard CDs and has his first book) but she decided he is just so much better live and such a charismatic person.
Was fun to have Spud with us Thursday night and see Kath and Julie
Andrea on Friday had an interesting voice, especially in the jazz number and Tyran (who came out halfway through her list) was a very good singer.
Damien had the black jeans and pink sneakers to match the shirt
Damien also did * Little Beggarman again between Rocky Road and 7 Drunken Nights
Gave Damien his Peacock gift
and wrote Wear this where you will, but I hope it will STAY
. Damien decided it wasn't a mask like the elephant.....It's a puppet!!!
after some fiddling with it revealing the jockstrap He said he was glad he'd worked out it wasn't a puppet before using it for the kids
Again he got the message that it was a bribe and sang *Stay for us
and told the story behind it
*Cold Cold Heart went into the start of Knocking on Heaven's Door and we also had the first line of I Come From a Land Down Under
Pretty Woman moved into Hallelujah, but Damien did the start of Wimoweh and made out that was way it was going.
It was a little sad that the support's sound check was late as entry to the club was later and the support act was later 9:15 so that Damien didn't start until 10:10, so a late night for him.
Was lovely to see the Brian and the ladies Kath, Julie, Glawz, Trilly, Carla and Princey and Spud with her friends and the gorgeous Eils, also managed to catch up with 2damienfans ;D before they had to rush to catch the train.
This time I took my SIL and a friend of hers who has moved her from the US and they both loved the show and thought Damien has an amazing voice and terrific personality
The Brass Monkey crowd has become a much better group of singers (apart from one line
)....they've always been great patrons and support Damien well, now they're more vocal in the singing (even singing the verse
)
Thank you Damien for making us all feel special by being so generous with your time
