Here I am back home again.
I will get the bad news over and done with first and then it is out of the way.
The band were
too loud behind Damien to the point that you couldn't understand/hear what Damien was singing. It took a lot of the enjoyment away.
I used to think it was just me sitting near speakers but this has happened at other concerts and others have commented on it, even when they have NOT been sitting near speakers, so it is a genuine problem.
My sister looked at me after the first song and said "I have absolutely no idea what he sang then. I couldn't understand any of it"
It did prompt me to write a note about halfway through letting Damien know that this was a problem.
Of course in true Damien style he read the note - 'Dear Damien, you are so good looking, handsome etc"
The real note said "the band is too loud backing you ♥ "
OK end of that............that was the final show with the band so I hope they keep it in mind for whenever they all play together again.
Damien was wearing a white shirt with blue jeans. He admitted that he has stopped wearing the skin tight jeans (
sure Damien
)

Just before Damine sang Beautiful he told the story that it was written for his wife and how she had just climbed Mt Kilimanjaro raising money for the Special Olympics. There was a big roar at the next table with the mention of the SO.
A few members of the Special Olympics Dance Group were sitting at that table and they were very happy that Damien mentioned them.
Also, after Damien sang Rocky Road to Dublin he mentioned about how difficult it was to sing that song (it is very fast) and then he proceeded to sing Diddly dee, didddly, diddly, diddly dee. Her said it was hard to get the right number of diddly's in and whoa if you got it wrong.
(that is not word for word, just how I recall it being said)Damien's voice sounded so pure, especially when he sang Crying, Running Scared and Hallelujah. It was pin drop time. He was faultless. The band hadn't rehearsed Running Scared and Damien mentioned how it is a very difficult song to sing and he apologized in advance since they had not rehearsed it.....................................
HE NAILED IT ;D ;D
There was a quick meet and greet afterwards and a few CD's were being sold.
I haven't mentioned that the support act tonight is the very spunky, handsome young Chris Rose who has been doing some writing with Damien lately. Damien did a Facebook post during the week about it.
Shims, b/f and MrShims Snr were there along with 2 DamienFans. My sister was with me and I had a couple of other friends there too but not sitting with us.
A couple got up and danced over the side a couple of times. Mainly for the slower songs.
Damien referred to me during the show (after Running Scared). He said Braffy, Dawn, Heather. haha. He misses you Dawn
He also mentioned the gift he received last time which he was fairly certain he got at Hornsby and he then mentioned the 'mask' with the 2 straps at the back. The big elephants trunk.
Hopefully Shims and 2 DamienFans can fill in some more details.
