RIVERSIDE ART CENTRE, MOOROOPNA Vic (Shepparton) 4.3.17
Same set list as previous, Damien did 'Faith in Me', not 'I can stop you crying' as he seems to alternate these two. This venue has a seating capacity of 421 and it was full, a mixed audience, 75% approx over 50's. They loved it, standing ovation at the end. All I spoke to just loved the show. Dawn, Sue and I handed out cards for the Elvis shows as people were leaving but we had nowhere near enough to cover everybody. Damien said he would have more printed and I suggested it would be worthwhile doing a hand out at two of the shows near Melbourne later in the year. The Elvis gospel song show is a one off at the Melbourne Art Centre apparently, but I wonder if he will extend it after getting a good response. Hope so. It could be as popular as the Roy shows have been.
Some photos of the night posted in the photo thread..very happy with my little camera again. We were in row 2 which whilst being fairly close to the stage is still a long way for a little camera to get a good picture on zoom!

He alternates between 'I Can Stop You Crying' and 'Faith In Me' because they are both co-writes with Joe Melson and he would be talking about him at the time, being Roy's main writer. I love 'Faith In Me' but I have only heard Damien sing 'I Can Stop You Crying' only once in concert so I wouldn't mind hearing that again. Very wise about handing out the cards for the Elvis Gospel Show. It's a one off show because it is being held on the anniversary of his death, It really appears as though you have had an amazing couple if weekends with the concerts. Thanks Glawz at Traralgon Damien changed into a black tshirt in the Interval. When I gave D his gift after Dream Baby he and Eric went on about the elephant having the longest trunk they'd seen . After the first 2 solo songs after INTERVAL, the band returned. My big problem at Traralgon was that I was too far from the stage to get decent photos At the Karralyka Centre I sat next to a very proud mum who had a photo taken of her daughter Kayla with Damien before the show after a gap of nine and a half years from the first photo taken when she was one and a half. She was so proud of that photo, how nice was that for her and her 11 year old girl . I had left D's gift behind a speaker and he opened it after In Dreamd. The gift was a tiger's tail, but the guys had all sorts of games with it . After Interval Damien had changed to a black tshirt and during the 2nd part of the show we all sang Happy Birthday to Steve for his birthday. At Westside PAC I had again put the gift behind the speaker and the note had 'To the amazing and talented Damien Leith you sure do tickle my feathers fancy' We also had a story about poor Eils with the children and Billy in the car. Billy had an accident of the poop kind and poor little Kikki vomited after seeing/smelling it. Reckon poor Eils had a busy time of it too. At this show Damien changed into a white tshirt at Interval. At all of these venues no flash was allowed so if there was a distance between you and the stage it was very difficult to get a clear photo. Thank you so much for all the fun during my time at the shows in Melbourne and the surrounds.

Yay! The 'gifts' are back. Whoo hoooo.
Poor Eils, Kikki and of course Billy.
The poor lady can't find her photo she posted on Facebook that she took of Kayla on stage with Damien.
Shame about the photos and no flash but I think that is pretty consistent with most venues.
Thanks fior the reports Dawn,

CESSNOCK PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE March 25, 2017
This show was originally in the Winners Journey list on November 5, 2016 but was postponed due to fires around Cessnock. We were entertained by Eric, Jess Steve and Cesar with Damien, of course. I always miss Chris's bass. Damien was dressed in black head to foot, even the tie was black The songs were those mainly from the Roy tour. * Blue Angel * Ooby Dooby * Only the Lonely, Damien also talked about Kikki as it was her 6th birthday on the Sunday and talked about how Damien sang a rude song : Dumb, dumb, dumb, how dumb you are. * Drove All Night He also talked about how his hair was long, but dirty and it was a thick mat of hair * Working for the Man * Wicked Game (by vote) * Dream Baby * In Dreams * Leah INTERVAL Damien came out to do a solo, but surprised me by singing a belated Happy Birthday song (prompted by Braffy as it had been lined up for the November show) many thanks to Braffy and Damien * Mystery Girl * Lullaby for Kikki (he sang one verse of this beautiful song) Also sang part of * To Get to You (my request) * Hallelujah (by request), then the band returned. I had put the bag up on stage and the boys had quite a bit of fun with the unicorn hat with the message "to the Amazing & talented Damien Leith - unique like the unicorn (I know you like masks!!xxx) and yes he and Eric both wore it. * You Got It * Penny Arcade * Running Scared * Nessun Dorma (by request) * Blue Bayou with Jess. * Mean Woman Blues into * Johnny B Goode * Toss the Feathers * Galway Girl (by request) * It's Over Encore * Pretty Woman with a bit of Wimeweh * Crying We encouraged the standing ovation at the end and throughout the show Damien was constantly encouraging singing by audience (even when off key ) A great time was had by all and they seemed to be selling CDs and Books fairly well at the end. Damien, Eric and Jess came out to the meet and greet and as usual Damien was very generous with his time.

Thanks for that Dawn, you had a few extra songs I think, awesome! Love the Unicorn, that's different! Did you take any photos of this show? I want to see his hair dirty and long! LOL. How lovely that he did a belated Happy Birthday for you - that was great.

Damien's show at Cessnock was just so unbelievably fantastic. Damien's voice was in fine form and the band were all excellent. Some of the notes Damien was hitting were just I loved getting to meet them all again and chat to Damien about how the show was worth waiting for. When I explained that the service station they got stuck at during the fires was close to where we live he said "Ah, you should have come and said hello!" I probably would have if they didn't close all the roads leading into town! One funny moment was when we got our photo with him, he had his hand on my shoulder ( ) then when he went to move it away, his cuff bangle got tangled in my hair and pulled it he went "Ooh, sorry! That was my-" and then shook his wrist to show what had got stuck, I told him it was all good. I loved the bit where Dawn gave Damien the unicorn hat and they were all having so much fun with it, they kept just losing it and bursting into fits of laughter during 'Running Scared'. I actually saw Jess wiping tears out of her eyes, she was laughing so much Then Damien absolutely lost it when Eric put the hat on and started ramming Damien with the top of it.

You must have been thrilled Julie, pity about the road closure though! It's lovely to have these special memories to go on with especially if there's a lapse of time between shows. Damien and Eric are so funny together sometimes and it's great that their friendship shines through on stage.

WYHDHAM CULTURAL CENTRE, WERRIBEE - 22.4.17
I didn't do a set list as forgot to take pen and paper and was too intrigued by the beautiful singing anyway... didn't want to waste of second of it!
I thought, and looking back, was correct in assuming it was the same as the previous set lists, e.g. Cessnock, except we didn't get the extras as you did there.
All the Roy songs were the same in the first half and same order as I remember, but after interval Damien came out alone and did by request, California Blue an Mystery Girl. The only 'extra' we got was Amazing Grace, which was gobsmackingly beautiful, as he talked about the Elvis show coming up. I was so happy that he kept plugging it, so unlike Damien to actually self promote.
He had sold out of all the Roy CD's at Colac the previous night so had none for sale after the show but was plugging the 'other' CD's and then did the 'Irish'... with the band - toss the Feathers, and talked about the Irish album. There didn't seem to be much left on the table by the time we got there after the show, but didn't see what he started off with. Surprisingly, there wasn't a huge crowd for the meet and greet, although D was a little while coming out after the show, maybe they got tired of waiting. You may be interested that George was there and selling merchandise with Jess. Eric, Chris and Cesar did not come out, we figured they were getting everything packed up as they were heading back to stay in the city last night, may have had an early flight. Steve was not the drummer - a new young man, Paddy (it was a surname like melon, that's how I remember it at all, haha) and he was a great drummer too.
Damien was extra talkative last night, the audience was really into him and it showed on the response from D and the band, they were obviously happy and so funny. Cesar was late coming out on to the stage after interval, so his penalty was to do a dance... awesome, as he did cha cha with Jess! Damien's DWTS partner Mel was in the audience with her hubby and baby Jaxton - we had chat to them in the foyer before the show, gorgeous little kid. Damien mentioned to the audience that Mel was there and took advantage of that line to talk about his hip movements which he did with gusto on the usual songs. He also did a bit of Irish dancing, a little more than usual, Mr Twinkletoes is what I call him, he's so light on his feet!

he he sounds like a fun night, oh yes he would have been dancing for Mel and such lovely photos of the family too. I wonder what George was doing back, although with Sony promoting the Remembrance album maybe that was an influence. Lovely you had a chance to all catch up after the show. Thank you so much for the report Glawz
