There are some other originals of Damiens on his myspace site. I dont know which of them are the best coz sadly my pc isnt powerful enough to play them thru that site. it just keeps buffering and I get one or two notes at a time - LOL VERY annoying and not helpful in terms of actually getting to hear the song. Anyway - it'll probably work for you! Maybe if you download them and then play them

I would like to see Damien sing something more like the type of music he is likely to realease when he wins. I think doing Elvis songs etc is good for us to listen to and he would be awesome at these types of songs but he should be trying to reflect his true self. He obviously favours artists like Radiohead, U2 etc so should try to pick something from this type of music. Actually I'd love to hear him sing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol - with his guitar, as he would really convey the emotion of the song beautifully. Congratulations Damo I have followed you from the beginning and just love listening to you and watching you sing. You have an amazing screen presence and I've seen & read plenty on many forums to assure you that Dean doesn't have the monopoly on sexy!

Can I make a suggestion I would like Damien to sing "YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING by Righteos Bros. & Long John Baldry did a version. As for Danny Boy many Irish people have it sung at funerals etc.,

I kept my promise and voted (multiple) for the first time. I think Damien is terrific. I also think a Westlife song would be good but how about "I Still Call Australia Home". He has the powerful voice to deliver that. Good luck Damien

I Still Call Australia Home is OK I think a bit too patriotic for the opera house, maybe on a album yes etc.

If we wanted him to sing about being an immigrant, he could sing "Hands that Built America" by U2 and change it too 'Hands that Built Australia"? But then it would compare us to the US...(perhaps not...only joking! ;D )

I can't stand the song "My Way". I would cringe if he sang that. How about "Making Love out of Nothing at all"? It has a great beat and a rising tempo that could go right off.

mmm sitting here reading some of the suggestions. And all I can think of is wow! The versatility and range of our Damo astounds me. Just look at some of the different styles etc of songs. Just goes to show just how special Mr. Leith truly is xx What about "Your Raise Me up" by Josh Groban? He could dedicate it to Eileen and Jarvis.

What about a Jeff Buckley song..or one that Jeff performed but didn't necessarily compose like "Satisfied Mind"? " How many times, have you heard someone say 'if I had money, I would do things my way?" But little they know, that it's so hard to find. One rich man in ten with a satisfied mind"... I'd love to hear an Irish song, but not one that is associate with being an Irish song per say (such as Danny Boy) something like "On Raglan Road".

I love all these songs (well almost all of them). I was listening to George Michaels Jesus to a Child today and thinking how it would be perfect for Damien's vocals. Beautiful song too.
But I would like to see more songs with a tough edge from Damien or a different feel than big ballads (much as I love the way he does those!!!). And a bit more recent - at least for the next show. But I'm racking my brain for suggestions and - I got nothing. He did really well with Creep and I loved the rock-edge and that guitar coming in with its harsh strum over the top of those beautiful soft vocals Ohhhhh!!!!!. That sort of contrast where you have this angelic voice with a tough raw instrumental - and his move from rock voice to falsetto - just makes me spazzz (hee hee)!!!!!!

I love the idea of Damien singing "If I Can Dream", it's such a beautiful song {and this is coming from someone who is not an Elvis fan} and i am sure Damien would so an amazing job of it. For anyone who doesn't know the song i thought i would post the lyrics of it and see what you think of them...I was looking for a link to somewhere you can hear it for yourselves but i haven't found one YET ;D
If I Can Dream
There must be lights burning brighter somewhere Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue If I can dream of a better land Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Tell me why, oh why, oh why cant my dream come true
There must be peace and understanding sometime Strong winds of promise that will blow away All the doubt and fear If I can dream of a warmer sun Where hope keeps shining on everyone Tell me why, oh why, oh why wont that sun appear
Were lost in a cloud With too much rain Were trapped in a world Thats troubled with pain But as long as a man Has the strength to dream He can redeem his soul and fly
Deep in my heart theres a trembling question Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow Out there in the dark, theres a beckoning candle And while I can think, while I can talk While I can stand, while I can walk While I can dream, please let my dream Come true, right now Let it come true right now Oh yeah
