I agree You raise me up has been done before Daniel Belle did a fantastic job, but it didn't go well for him, I am sure what ever Damien sings it will be perfect.

Somebody suggested Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol - that'd be a great choice.
You've lost that loving feeling would be good for the oldies. Fields of Athenry would be great for the Irish connection, and in it a man is sent to Botany Bay, tieing in Australia and the Irish.
Throw your arms around me would be good too, and Better be home soon he could bash out to fill in the time - almost too easy.

Chasing cars is a beautiful song and Damien would be great singing it. A great song played on a great song that could be sung by a great singer.
