No Winterlong I was much more reserved - in fact close to being in a catatonic state once Damien opened his mouth ! We were about 3 tables back in the A section

Tonight, I am pleased to report that, as per instructions, I am able to provide a complete and accurate Set List for Damien's third Melbourne Concert at The Palms. (Hope you like it, grumpy pants!) (yeah I took a notepad...so sad!) As expected, he opened with the recent version of Wicked Game then, in order If tomorrow Never Comes..with band MTMG..the rocky version. Next came a surprise. Someone in the audience yelled Celebration..."let's do it for the craic"!says D..hehe Fun!!..(but don't ask winter..) High and Dry..Radiohead version. [ i]Beautiful[/i] Damien's own. Well received again. Crying..as last night, superb rendition of the whole song.. Then, another surprise, from an audience "suggestion" Danny Boy (acoustic)..spellbindingly gorgeous..a highlight! Hallelujah (acoustic) Held the last note forever. next Come to Me (acoustic)..winter was in tears..so was I..this was perfect. Sky was next, the rocked up version. It really builds to a crescendo. next You Are So Beautiful..with band. Another highlight! Next came the With or Without You singalong.. which morphed into a medley with Fall at Your Feet..another surprise. Worked brilliantly. Finally Night of My Life, the extended version. Falsetto dazzling! Encore Nessun Dorma superb as always, but last night was better. lastly Unchained Melody Holding notes for days and nights..amazing! Missing from the previous evening Waiting on an Angeland Song for Jarvis

I couldnt help but notice this lady, whose jaw had literally dropped wide open in astonishment during the build of the song! Danny Boy was indeed a lovely surprise - hauntingly beautiful sounds trite as a description, but I can find no adequate word to describe this performance - I found myself in tears, and for me that is amazing.

I was just STUNNED that it was completely unrehearsed and off the cuff....he pondered for a while about whether to play it or not...joked around a bit....and then launched heart and soul into the best version I've ever heard. He said he had not performed that in 7 years (it was just him and his guitar )

Ooooooooooooooooh I go to a concert JUST to hear Danny Boy - soooo wonderful! I hope Damien will do that again!
He was doing "Fall at Your Feet" in Sydney with "With or WIthout You" - sometimes he'd mix it in, sometimtes at the front, and on St night he brought it in at the end. Loved it!
So was there any backstage passes around tonight?
Winter how did you post so quick - were you texting the forum somehow? Or did it finish pretty early.?
