After WG, a lady right up the back absolutely screamed out as he started talking "I LOVE YOU DAMO!!"...again, the audience was in hysterics, and D had a giggle too...then asked where she was "come on where are you, dont be shy"....lights up on audience and aforementioned audience members stands up and starts dancing about...pretty funny stuff, D was highly amusing and told her he'd be watching her during the singing parts.... lol during Wicked Game in Sydney on Sat night a lady up in the middle somewhere yelled out "LOVE YOU DAMO!" as well! He got a few calls like that from the Sydney corwds and either said, "I love you too," or that he'd watch out for them in the singalongs. It was so much fun seeing how the audience loved him, and it made him very happy I thought. There were some sweet moments with the little kids on the 2nd night in Sydney I think it was, mothers brought really tiny little kids up to the stage and mid song Damien would pat their heads or something.

When Pops did that at the Big Night In taping he was "oh, I love you too - there's a lot of love in the room tonight" - and I get the impression that is a line he has had to use a fair bit lately! LOL

Danny Boy was indeed a lovely surprise - hauntingly beautiful sounds trite as a description, but I can find no adequate word to describe this performance - I found myself in tears, and for me that is amazing. I was just STUNNED that it was completely unrehearsed and off the cuff....he pondered for a while about whether to play it or not...joked around a bit....and then launched heart and soul into the best version I've ever heard. He said he had not performed that in 7 years (it was just him and his guitar ) OMGGGG!!! that would have been breathtakingly mesmerising (running out of adjectives)...

Loved reading it all Winter. Just a comment about the lady's reaction to Nessun Dorma. At Cant, Hurls last weekend a lady kept yelling out 'Sing the Italian song in Irish. Sing the Italian song in Irish' . Damien answered with 'In Irish? I have enough trouble singing it in Italian' The crowd went wild.
