I'm only concerned about costing SO more money/time having to deal with requests to put forum names (eg i donated in my own name) and create/check lists. I understand the difficulties. Maybe I ought to make an extra donation on behalf of the forum for the extra work?

Monica and I have been coordinating about that throughout - I was willing to do that for her but then we unfortunately have the privacy issue at stake and I do not know who donated nor do I wish to, as it doesn't seem appropriate. So... Monica appreciated the privacy issue, we discussed it at length a while back and she let me know she was happy to coordinate the emails from everyone as they came in to associate themselves with their donation in the name they chose - I am very grateful to her for that, it is time consuming but she also added to me on Wednesday that it did end up providing her with a useful checklist as well to keep track. Monica told me on Wednesday that to her knowledge she has heard from everyone who donated regarding this but maybe we do need to check - anyway I'll leave that up to the poll. And any extra donations are always appreciated, I'm sure  |

OK I have put the poll up in the secret thread - please PM one of the mods if you need the password: Checklist for the SO Project This checklist will not be posted unless there is a 70% positive vote for it. If it is posted, it will be in the secret forum. That's correct Winter - if you donated anonymously your name won't appear on any letter or list - but please be sure you told (or tell) Monica this was your preference - she is the one keeping track of the list. As long as she knows, it will be fine |

Umm Shimmery, can you please tell me if it's possible to do the donations via bank deposit? Due my time limitations (damn work!), I cannot go to post office to do money order and I don't have credit card either... the only possible way for me to donate is through bank transfer...

Hi Janny I've looked through the Special Olympics site and can't find any info there about direct deposit. As time is now of the essence, I think you'll get the quickest answer if you speak with Monica direct on (02) 8116 9839 during business hours on Monday. Hopefully something can be sorted out! If you wish to DONATE ONLINE:
On the Special Olympics website there is an online donation capability which an overseas person would also be able to use. This option does not have a comments field yet so Monica is going to have their technical people add one soon so you can state that the donation is on behalf of the Damien Leith Birthday Project. If you wish to use the online facility before this is amended, please also send a follow up email to Monica direct monicas@specialolympics.com.au to let SO know that you'd like to have your donation added to the tally for the project.
I believe this has been updated now ;D

OK everyone! The wonderful Birthday Project is drawing to a close - anyone still thinking about making a donation there is still time left - Monica has let me know that the final tally will be taken at Close of Business Wednesday 17th Jan so there is time to post the checklist and check everyone who should be on it is on it.
