Oh GJ, I am so glad you liked it. Her "Autumn Leaves" is also one of the saddest songs I have ever heard.....like Damien, she can put so much feeling into what she sings, it can be heart-rending. I think he could do any song she has done and produce similar emotions. I also especially love her version of "True Colours", its so pure...

OMG gj! I just watched the Danny Boy video with Eva Cassidy singing. It gave me goosebumps and the photography of the penguins was absolutely incredible. Thank you. Getting back to Songbird, I just cannot wait to hear Damien sing this song. I listened to it earlier and it really takes me back in time. I am a die hard Fleetwood Mac fan, have been for over 30 years and have all of their albums. When I was listening to Songbird I had this recollection of my daughter as a little girl running and playing and the words "I wish you all the love in the world" and "I love you, I love you, I love you like never before" were playing while tears were stinging my eyes. That is the simple beauty of this song, it's not just a romantic love song, it is though a love song. Just imagine Damien on stage, with just his guitar singing Songbird. I can't wait to see that.

Christyl, Danny Boy always brings a tear to my eye. My father-in-law's name was Daniel (and of Irish decent) and his greatest joy was to sing Danny Boy at family functions. He's in heaven now. DH will often play Danny Boy on the guitar and it is truly beautiful to listen to.

Oooh, Damien covering a song Eva Cassidy covered? He's in good company there. Eva Cassidy had the most extraordinary voice - a real standout, just like Damien. My personal favourite of hers is 'Oh, Had I A Golden Thread' which shows off just how awesome her voice was. I never realised that Songbird was originally a Fleetwood Mac song though. Shows how much attention I pay to CD booklets... I will have to check out their version now! But wow... this album of Damien's is going to be spectacular at this rate... and I can not wait.

Was this in soundtrack Brokeback Mountain........ I'm not surprised that Sting was moved to tears by Eva Cassidy's version of 'Fields of Gold', it is hauntingly beautiful. She was a great interpreter of songs and her voice is exquisite. I'm looking forward to hearing Damien's interpretation of 'Songbird', I'm sure it will be loaded with expression and deep feeling.

WTF? This has become the Fleetwood Mac board? Seriously: I like a lot of Fleetwood Mac's songs, and I'm sure Damien's version of "Songbird" will be terrific. OMG, I'm getting so excited about the album to come! Beats talking about Dean.............they at least have some substance and talent...........
