I personally prefer Fleetwood's version over the Eva version, though I asked Damien at the web chat and he likes Eva. I just think Fleetwood's version has a bit more soul and is less insipid, it sounds less like your predictable love song, it has a bit more integrity in it. Like Damien's version. I never knew that about Songbird, I knew it was played at their wedding, but I hope Aine doesn't mind that he's appropriating her song!  Wonder what her version was like? It's had me sing this for a few days now, it's a beautiful song, I played it today and my mum and I just looked at each other and she said "that's beautiful." Not much else you can say, is there?  |

I just love his version of it. I was worried that I wouldn't like it because I usually hate covers of favourite songs because I usually hear that song in my head when I'm listening to the cover. However, as usual, Damien has made this song his own, and it's sufficiently different from Fleetwood Mac's version that I don't feel conflicted when I hear it. It is just so beautiful.  |

Songbird has always been one of my all time favouritres I always loved Fleetwood Macs version. But Damien you have nailed it. It will be my favourite songbird now.Bring on the album.

Totally agree with you Hyp. I've always loved Chrissy McVie's version of Songbird. It would be great to hear Aine sing this one day, perhaps as a duet with her gorgeous brother. |

i was never familiar with the Fleetwood Mac version, I'd only ever heard the Eva version, which I really love. And the thought of hearing Damien and Aine sing together one day would be amazing!!
