"Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac is one of only 2 covers (the other being the single 22 Steps written by Canadian Andy Stochansky) to be included on Damien's new Studio Album, to be released in July 2007.

Irish singer Chris De Burgh has stated in concert that his song "Songbird" from his album The Road to Freedom was written in honor of Eva Cassidy.

I have Rumours (can't forget that cover in a hurry ) but i usually listen to a best-of album so I don't know Songbird, I'll have to check it out! The title suits him to a T though! ;D

Hyp it's a lovely song!

I love the Eva Cassidy version, if you know the film Love Actually you will know this song, it's in the scene between Laura Linney and Rodrigo Santoro when they finally get together, then are interrupted by her phone ringing. Really beautiful song and Eva Cassidy gives it such a pure light touch. I am very keen to hear how Damien will treat the song after reading in the Irish Echo this week about him including it on the new album!
