Speaking about Dean.....I see that his single is already on the way down...without having made it to the top 10....oh dear....poor poor Dean... ;D

Haha was that intended... the "on the way down" part? I thought it was clever. (Because Dean sang that song on AI.)

Fleetwood Mac has always been one of my all-time favourite bands, with Christine McVie's version of 'Songbird' being up there at the top. So now that Damien is including this song on his first album I will be in heaven. I can only imagine how beautifully he will sing it, and know that he will do it justice. I can't wait to hear his version. Incidentally, I always thought Christine McVie wrote the song, and when I saw in an earlier posting that Chris de Burgh was the composer I checked it out. The lyrics to the Christ de Burgh song are different to those of Christine McVie, so I assume they are two different songs.

As I understand Chris de Burgh wrote the song about Eva after he heard her sing on the radio and is definitely a different song

Songbird is a beautiful song, I fell in love with it a few years back. I can not wait for Damien's version, I know it's going to give me chills.

I haven't heard the Fleetwood Mac version but I love the Eva Cassidy version. Is there much difference?

Damien's , "SONGBIRD" from the new Album "Where We Land" (on sale Aug 18) is available as a timed download from Today's Sunday Telegraph. From the 'Track by Track' with Damien Leith SONGBIRDI recorded this song because it's very personal to me. My sister sang it as my wife walked down the aisle on our wedding day
