UPDATED 12/1/07 DAMIEN LEITH Last September, Damien Leith was a pretty ordinary UCD graduate - a married father of one, working in Sydney Australia. But then at the last minute he auditioned for the TV show Australian Idol and lo and behold, after three months of gruelling competition culminating in a nail biting final in the Sydney Opera House, he went on to win it outright. He performed his new single "Night Of My Life" and joined Louis to chat with Pat. www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/index.htmlThe smil file realplayer detail should be dynamic.rte.ie/av/2208542.smil---------------- OLD MESSAGE *don't mean to get you too excited, but the video link should appear here soon* I have emailed them to hassle them but no reply yet. www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ shows that as at the time of this posting it is 7.42pm Tuesday in Sydney and 8.42am Tuesday in Dublin, so hopefully someone will be at work there this morning! www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/index.html*is impatient* Edit: others may wish to email them too: latelate@rte.ie

Does anyone know if they have a live show this Friday? The show is probably on a production break, or as the Americans call it, on hiatus. I wouldn't hold my breath for Damien's appearance to be posted soon. Having said that, I hope the site's webmaster gets a wriggle on!

I understand that Damien did well (song & interview), but co-guest radio executive Louis Walsh was ... difficult. The show isn't back on till next Friday, so maybe there is no-one at the office this week (I've emailed them - feel free to bombard them).

Have a funny story to tell you..,I was coming home on the train on Saturday and I was talking to my sister about the movie Kenny. We had both seen it and we then said how funny it was but it is far better on the big screen than on the DVD which we also have. We kept talking and then I was saying about Damien, how is due home today and that I have been keeping up to date with him while he has been in Ireland. I had been listening to radio interviews. Mentioned how I had emailed our niece who was in Ireland for Christmas to catch the Late Late Show. Unfortunately she didn't get it in time so missed it. Said to sister we have been anxiously waiting for it to become available on their website so we can see it, but they are on vacation and the show doesn't start again until this Friday night. Hopefully it will soon be available. I was saying how frustrating it was waiting to see him. Looked around at other people on the train and in the seat in front of us and across the aisle was Andrew Denton. I am sure he could hear what we were saying. Two things come to mind: 1 - People are interested to see and hear interviews with Damien Leith OK Let's have him on Enough Rope 2 - He is involved with the movie Kenny. I felt about the comments I made because I really loved the movie. It just loses something going to a small screen.. Would be great on Houndsy's 2 metre screen though! Thought I would share that with you while we wait for the Late Late Show. (Lives up to it's name)
