I'm not really a fan of them combining the download and physical sales to make the 'official' chart. As far as I'm concerned, it's #3 at the moment, and nobody will convince me otherwise. ;D

As far as I'm concerned, it's #3 at the moment, and nobody will convince me otherwise. ;D as far as i am concerned it is #1 because i always look at the australian charts... there has got to be something wrong with the calculation of the charts if a song about an umberella is number 2!! oh and might i also just add that he is only 1 spot away from deans highest position and dean only got as high as number 2 on the australian charts while damein is already at number 1!! hehehe my wish come true! and just one more thing, i just read how it's not getting played much on the radio... they are playing the crap out of it here... and i thought i would never hear it. I am hearing it atleast twice a day and i only listen to the radio in the car on the way to school, shopping etc. We have 10 in a row workdays where they play 10 songs without a break and last week i heard it at number 1 twice in one day. so i am really happy with the amount of airplay here. |

I have a question? How come the EP appeared to be selling well on itunes download but didn't even rate on the download charts? (unless my eyesight is failing me again) Did the sale of the EP count? It was No. 3 on the physical sales - I guess in the old system the single would have enter at No. 3. Yeah that's right. 3 on the physical singles chart is great and on the old system I guess it would of been number 3. |

I really wanted the song to debut in the Top 10, but I've actually found myself not so bothered with #11...I think its a pretty good result  I agree with mars in that this song is a "grower"...I know it certainly didnt grab me on the first few listens, its not a "pop" song. Perhaps, if the radio play picks up (hello people>>>>  !) the position will rise...  Number #3 in the physical sales is really REALLY good, we just need the downloads to pick up a bit! I'd encourage people if they want to make extra purchases this week to download it from a few different locations (just remember that only one download from any one store will count towards the charts...ie dont download it more than once from the same store). I will buy some extra physical copies too...if anyone is wondering what to do with their extra copies, you could always send one to one of our overseas members |

Wow, thats great! I am in Melbourne and listen to radio for half hour twice a day, morning and night (in the car, driving during peak hours). I flick around the radio stations alot, and I've got to say...I have NEVER heard 22 Steps on the radio |

What is the difference between Just the singles chart and the physical? the "singles" chart is made up from sales figures of both physical singles (ie actual cd singles bought in stores) and digital singles (ie those which are just files that you purchase and download, such as on iTunes) So even though 22 Steps is the third most popular CD single in the stores, not enough people downloaded it for it to retain that position when the sales figures from both formats (physical and digital) are combined. |

HA HA For a minute, I thought you all meant the actress from ALL SAINTS had released a single.  Can I be a little critical, and argue "Song For Jarvis" would have been a better first single? I thought she meant that too.  (I was like "SHE can sing?!"  ) Yeah anyway, 11th is very good, go Damien! And I bet it will go even better next week. |

Can I say that it seems like maybe the discrepancy between the overal national and the state placings is that downloads are only counted on a national basis whereas physicals are state by state so that once the downloads are added in to the national figure, the overal result dropped becuase of the lower download sales.

I think it doesn't help that Itunes lets you download tracks separately! We all wanted that bonus song 'I still Miss Us', and only downloaded that, as some of us have already brought the single.
I know that is what Itunes do, but maybe we should of brought the whole EP, not just the bonus song.
