Wow, what a weekend, I think I am going to be recovering for a while yet!

This show was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I was soooo tired from very little sleep the night before and a long drive down from Dawn's to our Hotel near Bankstown and I was car sick most of the way down so I wasn't feeling too well before the show started.
A few minutes before D came one, I got my 2nd wind and came back to life!

Damien came on wearing my favourite outfit.....black, black and more black!!!
Tight black jeans with a gorgeous belt, tight black tshirt and a beautiful black tailored jacket. He looked fantastic and as soon as he came out in that, I knew we were in for a good show! Well, I was anyway...
I turned to Dawn and said "He is wearing black black black" which I think is why she wrote it down on the piece of paper!

Damien started with Catch the Wind and was sounding beautiful. His voice was in top form and during the night, he reached some absolutely gobsmacking notes which made us all sit on the edge of our chairs (well I was almost on the floor to be honest)..

You already have the set list so let me just mention a few of my own highlights.

BEAUTIFUL
I have heard Damien sing Beautiful many times but this was something else. He took it to an entirely new level and had many of us in tears. It was stunning!
Houndsy and I were both just sitting there in awe...I can't even describe it in words.

Damien's humour!
I was laughing so much I had knots in my tummy! He came out in a great mood and his jokes and spontaneity were on fire!
He was also in a very very cheeky mood and playing up to those of us in the audience that were acting um......

The dance moves.............LOVE THEM!!!
Damien had a few new moves at Revesby and we were loving them all. He has this new little shuffle across the stage. Very cute!
As mentioned, he made a mistake during Vincent (deliberate maybe? hehe) and he HAD to dance as a punishment.
The stage was rather high so Houndsy and I stood up to see him do his now famous Cossack dance.
He was going soooooooo well until he fell flat on his butt, with legs in the air. He bounced straight up and got a massive cheer from the audience.

Oh....I think it was after he came out from the interval (correct me if I am wrong ladies)...he pulled a few pieces of paper out of his pocket.
He said he had been given some notes to read out.
He pulled out the first one and said....ooooh, this is much to saucy/risque to read out loud.
To which Houndsy said VERY LOUDLY!

IT MUST BE FROM CARLA!!!!!

I didn't know whether to sink in my chair or slap her....I think I managed to do both in the end as well as going a bright shade of RED!
For the record, no I didn't write it and I do hope Damien was just playing up, because of someone really DID write him a tarty note, then now he DOES think it is me!

*slaps Houndsy again*

Also...the little story about "leaning to the right", I will let someone else tell that one....Houndsy???

I have already posted about Damien singing KISS and the reaction he got. I am so grateful I was there to see that and I hope he thinks about keeping this song on the set list from time to time and I loooooove seeing that side of Damien!

There was a few times during the show that I actually felt like getting up and dancing, but seeing as though we were in one of the front tables and right in front of the stage, I figured I would save everyone the torture but what I am trying to say is, that is the kind of show that it was.
It's like we got a taste of everything..
The absolutely stunning and powerful notes in the ballads which I am not kidding, had me in tears a few times.
Then the next minute I was laughing hysterically at Damien's cheeky humour...and then clapping and bopping away the next.

An absolutely jam packed fun filled and yet emotional night and one I will remember for a very long time.
Thanks Houndsy for being my crazy tart/partner in crime!

Oh and a special mention to Eric and Jimmy for coming out straight after the show to say Hello and Eric actually thanked US for coming! No thank you is ever needed, that's for sure
Eric is such a sweetie and I think he is off to Guam today?
It was also lovely to have a drink with the now famous Jimmy. As some of you know Houndsy made a sign at the Doylo for him that said "Gary Sinise is HOT"....as he does look a lot like him. Damien mentioned a couple of times about Gary Sinise and how there are some women that think Jimmy is HOT (looks at Houndsy)...

A brilliant night.....full of great memories and an amazing weekend and thank you to everyone for making it so special.

My weekend ended on a lovely note too. I got off the train after all the travelling I have done to find my gorgeous husband and 3 youngest beautiful children waiting for me at the train station.
I was greeted by the 3 munchkins running up to me with open arms and I can tell you, even though I had the BEST weekend, seeing their little faces made me burst into tears before they even made it into my arms!

Fabulous report Carla, I'm loving hearing how wonderful Damien is sounding I hope the whole show continues in this fashion for the rest of the tour, I love the cheeky banter, and the tarty behaviour he really is a crackup on stage.

Would of loved to have heard KISS!! omg that would of sent me to the floor too Beautiful really is just beautiful isn't it. I wasn't a huge fan of this song, but after hearing it with the violin intro etc I was just mesmerised by it.

I 100% agree with you about beautiful...i also had tears in my ears when i heard it both times at Capers and Village Green, it was absolutely so stunning and i have never heard such a beautiful version like the one his doing in all these concerts!!, JUST WOW!!!

Great report! Carla... sounds absolutely fabulous!! I felt that way about Beautiful when Damien sang it at Logan... WOWEEE!

I feel bad I haven't done a report from our concerts but I have been away for so long..it's all a bit past it now. Just loving all your reports- it brings back such brilliant memories.

WOW this sounds like such a great show - I'm so sorry I couldn't stay on for this one, esp since my arm is so sore from where you were twisting it all day Saturday Carla I tried to drop the hint to my DH but he wasn't falling for it hey? (He did ask me if I was going to Rooty Hill when I came home though... you never know)

Wow, would have loved to hear Damien sing KISS - lol and I love that 2U sort of way the lyrics were written, I think that's when all that sort of shortening words started wasn't it?? I really hope that one stays on the set list!!!

Ok well the other girls have done a great job with the reports, i'm not very good at writing long stuff so I'll just add a few things here and there.

Damien was so on fire tonight and he definately swallowed a "cheeky pill" I think. He was talking about his dance moves and he was shuffling to the left and jumping back and forwards it was sooooo cute!

He mentioned the "thong" again as it is on tour This time he said it was Jimmy's because it was "too small for him"

His version that he did on this night of Beautiful was truely the best I have every heard it and Carla agreed. It was totally touching and out of this world!

When he pulled out some notes and said they were "saucy notes" I couldn't help myself and had to yell out "they'd be from Carla!" she didn't actually slap me but she did go a bit red hee hee.

When he started to go into "Kiss" Carla and I didn't just yell out it was a true FANGIRLY scream! Damien got so into it on this night it was just awesome to see.

Now Damien started talking about hurting his neck, with the audience going like ooohh oh yeah hahaa he he's like no I lean to the right or something so he was getting himself into very hot water and Carla was laughing so much Damien was looking at her and he was giggling that he said he couldn't finish the story but he kept playing up the leaning bit and it was all a bit risque and we LOVED IT!!!!!

Ever since I held up the sign for Jimmy that said "Gary Sinise Is Hot" Damien has on the last two nights talked about Jimmy looking like Gary Sinise and being hot Jimmy told me he still has my poster in his car. It was proberly the best show I have seen of Damien because he was having so much fun it was contagious!

I didn't hear you say that the saucy note must be from Carla, so don't worry Carla, she couldn't have said it too loudly. Although she was facing Damien, not me, so the sound may have carried better to him.

The audience and atmosphere were much better than Damien's last concert at Revesby. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and joining in with the singing and cheering after songs. ;D We were also extremely lucky to have Eric and Jimmy there. I was so happy about that. ;D


Damien was making lots of jokes and being a bit of a (in a funny way of course), and a guy at the front was encouraging him, which only made things funnier. Jimmy had undies on his mic stand and Damien said something like "They're too small for me, but for a normal sized man they'd be too big." Then Jimmy said "Damien, you're meant to wear them this way!" and held them up with the small bit facing the front.


Also, Damien began telling the story of how he always leans to the right, and the guy at the front was replying with all these funny comments. Damien decided he didn't want to tell the story anymore. It was funny because he kept starting to talk but then he couldn't because he was laughing too much.


Damien was doing the funniest dance moves, including running sideways along the stage (and almost tripping over the cables ), and running backwards then doing a run up before singing long high notes, and the pogo stick jumping during Celebration, and also the Irish jig during Wicked Game, and the other funny dancing thing which I forget the name of, but he fell over doing it and it was hilarious. He took off his jacket to dance, and of course the crowd loved that. He already looked extremely hawt wearing the all black (Parramatta?) outfit, and then he looked even hawter with his jacket off.


Halfway through the second set, Damien suddenly said "Oh no, my shoelace is undone!" and he told the others to show us their dance moves while he tied up his laces. (I was considering pretending that it was my DLCC duty to tie his laces for him, but I didn't. Might have seemed just a tad weird. ) Jimmy did his Rochie Boogie which was very funny. Eric did his Chilean Shuffle. (Which was nothing like a shuffle but was totally awesome. He looked like he was spinning on his head, maybe he was.) I can't remember the name of Indi's moves but she didn't really do much because she said it was too hard to dance in a tight skirt. Damien agreed with her, and when everyone laughed, he said "What? As if you've never tried before."


When Damien first mentioned that Eric was from Chile, someone yelled out "They're hot!" Also, when Damien ran to the back of the stage (might have been when he was dancing), he bent down and picked something up and then said "Hey look! Someone's lost 40 cents!"

thank you. Oh! I have to stop saying thank you. A friend of mine got married recently and if you have ever heard the Winners Journey CD you will know that I say thank you at the end of every song. Just as the bride got to the end of the aisle you hear me say thank you'

He never mentioned it to us in Qld, it's the first time I've heard it spud. I would of laughed too, it really is quite funny, and yeah he does say thank you alot....but usually he says it twice!!

Great reports everyone, I'm thoroughly enjoying them and reading the different things that D has been singing and saying. Some of it brings back memories, and some it new, so it's all good
