Go Myst!! (you little Damienite backing dancer extraordinaire!) It really does sound like you all had a wonderful night, top marks to the Melbourne s for welcoming the visitors I can well remember how welcome you all made me feel when I came with you to Village Green earlier this year Ah, the "look" from Indie is definitely scary!! (I've seen that a few times! *shiver*) ....reckon she would have the out occasionally on the crowd if she could!

Damien made a comment about not knowing he had back up dancers Did he really? Well my performance was free on that particular night. Actually I won't be attending any more Damien gigs and I'd decided this prior to the Palms gig. The Canberra concert in July left a sour taste in my mouth, thanks in part to George Best! So what none of you knew while you were all enjoying Damien on stage at the Palms was that Myst was seeing Damien for the last time live on stage. Coupled with that was a very stressful week leading up to the concert and us almost rolling our car on the seven hour drive to Melbourne when the two rear shock absorbers gave out. (A whole other story that I won't bore you with here). What none of you know is my DH was the one who was ticked off by security when he stood up on the back of the stage (in darkness) to take photos so that I could post them here. Huh, security weren't quick enough to get me! By the same token, it's not worth the insult to my DH to do it again. Hey, if nothing else, the last two years have been a lot of fun. It's been amazing to see Damien step off the Idol stage and ultimately achieve his dream and I'm so proud to have been a part of it all, even though he probably doesn't have a clue what I personally have put into those two years. Rock on Damien, you're a star!

What happened in Canberra? I would have loved to meet you again at another show.

Obviously I don't know all the issues and reasons for making that decision, but surely the awesomeness of seeing Damien live would be greater than any trouble caused by George or security? Oh and also, how did your DH get to the back of stage? Wouldn't he have had to get up onto the front of the stage and walk across it, right past Damien and the others?

Spud, this was a very different stage config to the usual Palms setup. The back of the stage was easily acessible from where we sat. D said it was the first time they'd used this setup there. I LOVED it! "bumcrack" view or not, it was so close and intimate. I really hope that he uses it again at that venue. It was sensational. I guess it's up to us to behave appropriately so that this kind of thing can continue to happen. Shadow, yep, security are usually pretty tight there. Casino and all, I guess. Myst, I'm sorry you've made that decision. We'll have to work on you to change your mind.

Oh Mysterri That is really sad to hear you won't go and see Damien again. Decisions like that are hard to make. Just make sure it is truley what you want. I hope Damien does have an idea of what you have put into this wonderful place here. You are an amazing talented lady. I don't know what else to say

Ah ok, I've checked out the photos and that pic of the setup, now I get it. So was Myst's DH actually on the stage or just standing behind it? And Myst, did you actually get up onto the stage to dance, or just stand behind it? Because I could understand why they wouldn't like you being on the stage, but standing behind just on the ground seems fine. Although maybe a little scary for them not to be able to see who is behind them. What if you were some crazy person with a gun?

No it's not extreme at all. I've loved seeing Damien live but there are other things DH and I also want to do. A trip to Canada is on the agenda soon and then a cruise to Italy and hey, I can always take Damien's CD's with me. If Damien is intending to have gigs to showcase the new album next year I'll be trying my best to get to one of them and behaving appropriately. Or then again, maybe not! In the meantime, life is for living and that's what we'll be doing. ;D

Okay. Well good to hear that you haven't completely ruled it out (which was the impression I got before), and of course you should do other things you enjoy, rather than going to every gig of Damien's that you can. Enjoy your trip to Canada and the cruise!

I was hoping we could do it all again one day. One of the security (nazis) told me off as well He wasn't very nice about it either, he said NO VIDEO RECORDING, and he said they had been watching me from backstage , I will not let them stop me from going to any more gigs, but I know how you feel and I hope you do change your mind, I would love to see you again one day!!
