I've been listening to this wonderful album again lately, on rotation with Roy and I am struck once again by how much I bloody LOVE it! Damien's technique vocally is perhaps better on Roy, perhaps his range is more fully explored and his control is just beyond amazing, but this is still my fave album musically. I love the story of a relationship it tells, I love the lyrics, I love the melodies and the production, but mostly I love the emotion in Damien's voice on songs like Wouldn't Change A Thing and Stay. I eagerly await his next original album, (perhaps sometime next year,?) where I know I'll hear Damien's own music expressing his own stories again and bringing to bear his formidable new technique and his full, proven, emotive powers!! In the meantime, I hope some more folk who've bought Roy now find Remember June and discover for themselves Damien's brilliant songwriting!

Totally agree Trilly..and have said before I like to listen to a few random blends of all his originals and nott a one I don't love....xox

I've got RJ in the CD player at the moment too. It's my number 1! For me, it feels like the real Damien when I listen to RJ , exactly the music he wants to make, which is why it feels so sad that it was not well received . All the other CD's ,as good as they are, are Damien recording what he is told to record I can't wait for the next originals album, but I sense that this time he will be writing songs he thinks the buying public want to hear, rather than writing from the heart, like he did for Remember June. His recent comment in an interview about having not yet written a song that suits his voice, makes me think that we will hear a new style from him. Whatever he sings is alright by me

I think Damien will always write from the heart, Deb. I doubt he can do otherwise. It's a fundamental feature of his work. Judging by what he's said about his voice and his originals, I think Damien will be writing music now that blows lovers of "Roy" and "Remember June" away!

Read so much on Mr Leith recently with so much going on around him that it is hard to keep up with the guy but only the other day I did read where he said that his next album will be a mix of Covers and Originals with the originals in the style of the powerful type songs of Roy Orbison I think I read that

It is the best album ever Trills! We are all supporting Roy at moment, which I will continue too always! I guess you go back a long ways with "D" s music and know! He can do original work really really well. No sorry he can't do it he has got it! He has the gift and most on DLO just know it! Just keep the faith, follow and support him! He has the gift, and you guys know it going back to day dot!
