I'm another one I have RJ and Roy on constant rotation in the car and have done for ages, RJ is still my favourite album, I just can't stop listening to it Me too Princey. Roy and RJ We went up the country last week in Mr G's car ....he said to just get a CD out of the glovebox. I found Winner's Journey and Catch the Wind.. neither are my faves but have to say I still enjoyed listening to them as hadn't done so for quite a while. There's no doubt that that Damien voice sounds good no matter what.

I was in my car today with my SIL. We were going to Bunnings to buy a new mower for me I was playing R.J. He asked me about the CD and that it was pretty good. Stay was the next number he was totally mesmerised.I told him it was a Damien original relating to the Beaconsfiels mining disasters. After hearing that he could not believe that no has played it on radio. He took the album to have a good listen. Another fan of RJ. I have emailed channel 9 they are making a series of the disaster so they may play that wonderful music. Damien calledf it his Hallelujah.

I've been listening to Remember June this am and it got me thinking...does Sony own it? If D wanted to release it elsewhere could he? I am still devastated that this album didn't get the airplay and recogniton it deserves. Would love to see Damien release it in the UK (with appropriate promotion) Brilliant album and my all time favourite. Expecting the new one to knock it off it's perch though!!

Smiley I couldn't agree more. Remember June is such an awesome album that I play ALL the time in the car. My favourite by a long shot and has very special memories/emotions for me. I love it to bits, but gee this new album and the excitement that Damien has and the team around him I reckon it is going to be a corker.
I can't wait.
I would imagine that Sony would own the current recorded album but the songs are Damien's so I am only guessing that if he re recorded the album then he would own the new version.

I have a horrible feeling that Sony owns the copyright to Damien's music released by them , Smiles. He would have been entitled to songwriting royalties, that's about it, I believe. I noted it was said in the announcement when he joined Social Family Records that he will own his own music with them (as a opposed to not owning it previously, I gather.) Otherwise, why mention it? However, HOOFREAKINRAY! Finally he is in control of his own creations and not only will get royalties from this new, highly anticipated (not only by us!) album but has creative and copyright control too! Woohoo! Begone, shackles!! ;D

(obviously he's not going to, given the expense but there are a couple of absolute stand out songs on that album that could/should be given another crack. ) Or I guess he needs to make his mark now and the "old stuff" will get attention anyway?
